Neah im not impacient,it needed to be done since this thread would continue as a CAN I USE XXX or WHY NOT YYY for years...You have the rules and the deadline,shouldnt be too hard 🙂 Oh and dont do too many Geiss-like presets ok ? 😁

Another difficult question: would a blend only DM count as a simple trans (as it does no movement)???

I think only 3 to 4 multiplies should be enough, it gets too bright after that.

5: two trans effects(General APE's allowed,like color map,texer,convolution filter,but no preset specific APEs) - no,you cant use unlimited multipliers.You can use an unlimited number of fast brightness though,even if it`s 0.5 fps slower.We had a conversation about how we try to make presets faster with 0.x frames so lets not start another one.

I checked out the presets submited so far and I was pleasently suprised , but I must say that almost all of them require some color work. My personal oppinion is that presets that include almost every color in the spectrum🙂 are a bit crappy(there are exceptions🙂). Check out some of the better designed presets and you'll surely notice that they only have two or three colors in them (at a time). you will also notice this in advertiseing, package design....blablabla 😁. So my advice is grab a book about colors (this Kuppers dude made the most valid color theory so far IMO)and read about harmonies or just check out your favorite drink, bublegum,... (note that the expenisve ones are usualy better designed😁) and try to use the colors you see there🙂.

Aw, i could make that tunnel thing look much better with a bufferblender effect. I already set the fadeout to the superscope, but the movement messes it up again and so we got wrapping edges. 🤪

Heh, mine is a nice reactive speed, no hyperactivity, and nice colour contrasts, plus it's got that great, look about it 🙂 i like watching it. Anyway What's the reviewing situation, are a few people going to review the lot or should we get people who've not submitted an entry?

Raz lets wait until the deadline or at least a few days before and then we shall ask some impartial avs-not-knowing people to judge the presets ok ? Like milkdroppers or GD people or tech dudes...4-5 people would be fine to make a jury.

Why no Forums voting? Just post the poll to GD if you want to reach many peopel. Set a Deadline for the voting (maybe max 5 days) all but those who took part can vote. 🙂

The reason i didn't suggest a poll is that people will vote for their own, that simple. It doesn't matter there is going to be some unfair votes cast. We need a better voting system than just forum members on a poll. Maybe UnConeD if he doesn't submit or appears sometime. Or rovastar. Don't choose people who don't know avs because they won't recognise the work put in etc. SOmeone with a bit of avs knowledge at least.

a couple questions: can you use a different render from the superscope, along with the "one extra render"? same with dm - can you use a different trans, e.g. dynamic shift or ddm?
also, can you submit multiple entries? i would assume you can...

I think its one entry per person, and one update.. that was mentioned somewhere.. one entry it just plain logic for a competition, otherwise ppl could just send in 50 of their best flow presets.

And no atero, dont stretch the rules because everyone else has already played by the rules so it would be unfair to redefine them.

*It says "one render other than superscope", so you can only use one render other than superscope.
That means that you cant replace the superscope iwth another render.
You dont have to use a ssc, but then you still only have one render.

*It says nothing about replacing the dm either, so you cant do it.

*It is just logical to assume that you cant have a dm as one of your other trans if it has already mentioned one dm only.

4: unlimited number of buffers
7: any ammount of... all the misc except buffer.

*yes that makes no sence at all, so just use as many buffers as you wish. it wont make much difference anyway.

well then...*ahem* screw this. those rules blow, and they in fact defy common logic. consider me out, i'll have no part in this 😔
