Hmm... it might be too difficult to handle this trough email, also because i think there should be more reviewers than one. Also, who will review the reviewers entries or are they even allowed to enter the contest? 🙂

Ok...Like i said a few posts above,reviewers proposal : me,Tugg,Raz,Nic.The entries of the reviewers can be reviewed by the person who does the worst preset for example or by UnConeD,i dont think he will participate or we wont let him 😛 Lets agree on the rules here and then for the entries we will open a new thread ok ?

Flow contest would be nice, You could only use 1 superscope & 1 dynamic movement 1 effect list & 1 trans effect of your choice... Then we would have a pack with some pretty fast flow presets that would run in high resolutions

Ok maybe not that much limited, but speed is the key here nevertheless. I think it would please a lot of people who think "AVS is slow & crappy"

2 effect lists
1 buffer save (with save)
1 buffer save (with restore)
2 trans effects (General APE's allowed, like colormap, texer, convolution)

You sneaky bastard TUG ! I bet you've allready made an uber-133t-flow preset with exactly these components & now try to do a contest which allows only those components you've listed. Am I right 😉 😉 😞

ACtually, you're not that far away 😉 My AVS PARTY 3 pack is based on simple ideas & presets, however those presets do go over those limits 🙂

Well, here goes my view:

I there are any restrictions in the number of ssc's or dm's and stuff, someone could write an entire APE to do his job! 🙂 (although I doubt anyone would 😁)

That what i would like:

1: one render object
2: one dynamic movement
3: two effect lists
4: two buffers (no matter what method)
5: two trans effects except dm
6: one other render object except ssc
7: any ammount of fadeout, brightness, fast brightness and all the misc except buffer.

Post it all to a new topic, when finished we all vote for the best one. -> no need for reviewers

No other render effect.. its meant to be a flow preset, so you dont need more than one render. if you have more than one, people will submit all sorts of shit.

I used 1 dynamic movement, 1 convo filter, 1 color map, 2 effect lists, 2 buffers and 1 moving particle.
If the particle is a problem I can code a similar scope.

You people who say they get bad feelings about things are the people who never do anything because "it'll be shit". If it doesn't turn out to well so what, it's no major loss. We might as well try, if you don't like it don't get involved. That simple. If people think it's going to turn out bad then it'll turn out bad but if we just do it maybe, perhaps something might turn out well. You never know.

One little question : Should optimization a factor in the outcome?

Lets put a deadline for submission of presets, i guess that'll control the limit.

A guess max. 1 Month. That should be enough Time for all.
MAybe shorter, 2-3 weeks would also do it.

What about clear screens though, do they count as a render object or what?

As you can't do that much with a clearscreen, i'd say unlimited.

To ´make the rules clearly understandable we should i'll post a complete component list here.

how bout we start another thread for submissions with precise rules at the start, and a note directing people to this thread for general chat.
cause i can see that this wil just go on and on

Nic01 & others: If it's a flow preset, the better it looks the faster it moves, it's as simple as that. So optimize your presets as much as you can is my advice 🙂 And besides the whole idea was to make simple presets that work fast, think "newpicks" 😉

But i think flow presets should be slow and relaxing (UnconeD's - Camatose enlightment)🙂
i guess devart members should put a notice on site about the contest when it is finaled.

But even the slow ones look even more relaxing with high fps 😉
