May I have your attention please... (next pack)

I've decided that NDD4 will be a remix pack. You know what that means...

Start tearing my presets apart!

I've already got one that I'm definitely using (Zevensoft's 3D translation of Stick Disco).

Here are links to my packs to save you the trouble of hunting them down:

uNDefineD 0 - Brentyn
uNDefineD 1 - Explosion
uNDefineD 2 - Advantage
uNDefineD 3 - Radiance will be up VERY soon. 24 presets down.

I just need you to stick to three teensy weensy rules:

1. Name your remix like this: uNDefineD - presetname (yourname nameofremix RMX)
2. Add a comment above mine telling the date you did the remix and what you changed/added/whatever.
3. Post your remixes in this thread.

As usual, I'm making the target 30 presets, plus an intro (that I'M doing 😛). So you're welcome to submit more than one (just keep it reasonable, I think 3 is a decent limit). If activity slows down, then I'll open that limit a bit more. I'm going to be doing a remix or two as well.

I look forward to seeing what you can come up with. 🙂

Well, If I could have more like: "BlurPak/uNDefineD - <Presetname> (<Remix name>).avs"
uNDefineD#
Hmm. You do realise, Scarface, that the point of this is to create remixes for a pack that will be released under my name?
dirkdeftly#
except that they're our remixes of your presets, so our name should be on them, and we're entitled to release them ourselves if you release them (and with your permission with you don't)

Have a remix...

Nothing really to new here, just a few raytraced DMs morphing into each other but I think that the texture goes well with it all.

Enjoy.

It seems to only jump when it goes from in between two parallel planes to one of the enclosed surfaces. If I knew more about 3-D DM's I would help you out some more.
jheriko#
I can't see the problem with the code myself... it must have something to do with the targeting variables i renamed them to try to make the code easier to read in the hopes that someone would spot the flaw.
dirkdeftly#
jheriko, realize that you're one of two (count 'em, TWO!) people who know how to truly raytrace DMs.
jheriko#
the flaw has nothing to do with the raytracing element though... its a flaw in the x=(t)*x1+(1-t)*x2; targeting method that I used.

(btw atero i'll draw that diagram you asked for in another thread after i have my dinner... which will be now.)
Zevensoft#
Yes. Extrapolation. It's used in Half-Life's multiplayer code to predict where a person is and counter-act latency.
anubis2003#
If that was an answer to my question then I'm talking about in your preset, where if t was outside of the range(0,1) then it could jump rather sharply from one shape to another.
jheriko#
no it wouldn't jump rather sharply if t exceeded 1 or zero. it would only jump sharply if t jumps sharply.. or in the case of the specific preset mo1, mo2 or mot.

VERY good work J. 🙂

BTW, I have to tell everyone: I got offered a place at Swinburne Uni today, doing a Cert. IV in Multimedia. Fantastic, because Swinburne has the best multimedia programs in Australia. w00t!
jheriko#
Congrats on the uni placement.

BTW if anyone can figure out that bug I would be most appreciative. I have an updated version of the preset with a different morphing into the two planes... one which doesn't destroy the 3D effect of the tunnels in the process, but, there is no point in me posting it if the morphing is still broken.

Here you go.

I didn't remember how to name the presets so im sorry for that... not that it matters since the "remixes" don't have any names, just my name.

Im also sorry for not remixing these properly (i think) and i completely understand if you don't want to put them into the pack, because 2 presets are just slight edit's and 1 preset is just completely done from scratch without using any of your stuff 🙁
jheriko#
Heh... I fixed up my rmx... all that i did was change all of the variable names and it worked. Amazing how buggy AVS actually is isn't it.

Tugg,
Mercury Ocean - Very nice. Make the sky stay red for longer-I think it will look better.
Gandalf's Vision - Also nice. Love the flowing (although it kinda hides the beat detection). Adding an on-beat brightness might work well for this.
Blackhole Flipside - The back should be replaced with a fog.

Jheriko, it still seems to jump on my computer.🙁

Tug--
Thanks. 🙂 At this point, I'm really just going to use anything, because there's still lots of room to fill. And don't worry about the name thing, that was only to save me from naming them all the same myself. So I'm a total obsessive, AND I'm a lazy bugger. 😁

Anyway:

- Black Hole Flipside is awesome, especially the scopes (Why didn't I think of that?).
- Hmm, Gandalf's vision didn't shift around in the movie, but it's still pretty cool.
- Mercury Ocean: yes, it's definitely staying in. 🙂 Only prob is that the ocean itself is a little too dark.

So, the count so far is:
Me - 1 (I remixed Static void from NDD1, don't know what else to do)
jheriko - 1
Zevensoft - 1
Tuggummi - 3
Total - 6

Jheriko--
Thanks too. Didn't really notice that much of a problem, but anyway.
Tuggummi#
Ok, i'll improve the presets just a bit more in the weekend and submit them again in this thread in monday. mmkay?
Tuggummi#
Ok here are the slightly uptaded versions. Although you probably won't even notice that they are uptaded, but they are. Even Gandalf's Vision is a bit different (removed the green starfield 😛)

Anyway i hope they are now better, and if they need slight adjustments i trust uNDefineD to make the changes 🙂

Glad to be a part of this pack! 👍
anubis2003#
They are better, but the differences are very small. My same reccommendations still hold.
