it would be a nice extension to
set hotkeys for accessing whole directories
that are played in random order until another
directory (or single preset) is selected.

There were a couple of external programs developped to do this. They may be the ticket you're looking for.
Do these programs (where are they?) also enable to choose a couple of dir's to run presets from instead of one or all?

And it crashed my computer. I've downloaded the files but when I tried to run setup that is supposed to open the *.cab file the fatal error came up every time (the one with the blue screen). I would use it if I could install it but 🙁. Is there some other way to install it, perhaps a zip archive or something like that? I've talked about this in one of the threads here.

I think there's no more problems with that 🙂
try the new version, it use an exe installer...., also download the zip with the updated .exe 🙂
