When I start AVS it starts the window but only displays a white background. If I have music playing at the time, it freezes winamp as well and I can only kill it by using task manager. Sometimes the music starts repeating, the last 4-5 seconds are played over and over again after I try starting AVS. If I then leave it alone for a few minutes, the AVS window slowly changes, like it is moving about 10000 times slower than it should be. CPU load is <1% on my AMD Quad Core, so isn't exactly overloading the CPU 😉
I can use milkdrop2e without any problems at all.
Using Winamp 5.541 on Win XP SP3.
AVS freezes on startup

I really don't know..
Did you change anything, a new plugin etc, or is it a new install?
The most certain fix is a [clean install] (different from a normal uninstall-reinstall)

It is on a very recent new Win XP install. I just set the machine up a few weeks ago so I don't know if a reinstall will do much!? Anyway, I'll try it and see.
