Best of the Best

I’m making a pack that contain most or all of the greatest preset ever made: kind of like the “community’s pick” that come as a default, but it would have 7 times the content. Most people who aren’t AVS connoisseurs want one or two downloads of quality stuff, and won’t spend the time to hunt down great pack from the prehistoric period of WinAmp. I’d like to make a pack that solve that problem with a single download.

I was trying to come up with basic genre (like flow, abstract, 3D, minimalistic, etc.) but most preset don’t fit very well into them. I also was thinking of classifying them by mood (like soft, explosive, subtle, etc.). If anyone could help me come up with some type of system, that would really help.

Lastly, I have a gianormus collection that art lacking some artist (mainly Yathosho and Jeriko). If anyone has a preset that they thing should be in this pack, post it. Right now, my collection is has upwards to maybe a 1500 preset in it.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated

I'm not posting my collection because to too large (238 KB), but I can post section if requested, but I would thing it would be too much trouble to download them.

it's probably a rather impractical idea seeing as though most people would already have +60% of all the presets anyway.
that and to make it properly you'd want to standardize the file names so it sorts the presets by author, which given the amount of presets that start with numbers before author, it'll take aaaages.

want me to help in any way? i could write a list of avs presets that would do well in a pack like this

Sure, if you'd like to help shodan, either write a list withe the pack name and the preset (so I can find it), or post a zip file with all of the presets, thanks.

yeah, I understand what you mean, Mr_Nudge, I've propably spend around 6 or 7 hours to review each pack and delete the ones I don't like.

I will prodably post a basic set of preset within a week, but I have alot of stuff going on. As always, I'd love to have any help or suggestion.

It's Finally Here : )

Sorry it took so long. I tried dividing the files to post separately, but that would be like 8 files, so I decided just to submit the pack and possibly update it later. My computer was being constipated, so I finally was able to submit it today! It may take a few days to be published, but be looking for it and tell me what you think. Thanks

no seriously, i guess it takes a while to get copyright clearances from all the artists included
