Microphone input and lyric displays

Is there any way to have a live audio input (like a microphone) that will be recognized in AVS? An example is live band music that would project the AVS video.

Also, can lyrics be display w/ the AVS as a background without manually editing individual presets? The lyrics should be in a PowerPoint format: manually typed in and can be shifted forward and backward in the presentation.

2. not unless you write a plugin and powerpoint would be like the worst choice of input format

for the lyrics, i'm thinking gc's text ssc with external globvars from a txt file or something.
