what about texering this thing with random star size and the likes?

I sped up Gax a little and added it to the attachment 🙂
Always try to have convos with scalings that are natural powers of 2.
This speeds up things a lot because convolution.ape then uses bit shifting to divide:
a/(2^n) == a >> n
also, reducing convos in size can help 🙂
