Visualizations Guide?

Basically I am new to visualizations and need a basic guide. Sorry if this seems inappropriate for the AVS board.

Is there any way to improve the resolution in fullscreen? I have tried the dropdown box but that affects performance massively, to the point that it won't run at a decent resolution, so are there any options I can change to improve fullscreen high-resolution performance?

Also, and I know this might be going too far, but would you recommend any other visualizations such as Milkdrop?

lol, not only what unconed stated, but the only recommendation on a AVS board you're going to get is to use indeed AVS 😛
