Render text carriage returns?

Is it possible to make the text renderer do carriage returns? I'm trying to get a vertical line of characters, but as far as I can tell the text render only renders them on horizontal lines. Is there a modified version out there that will do vertical lines? Thanks.

None that I know of - Anyone willing to try out lower ASCII chars?

i'm pretty sure it's impossible, unless you can somehow do a char thing like html/cpp/whatever (&blarblar; or \blarblar or BLARBLARbl4rbl4rBLAR)
