error loading presets

i've recently reistalled win2k and i am having a problem loading presents which i made before.
also i cant load downloaded presets.
only those i make now work fine and the default newpicks

any clue?

by the way, anyone knows what's the file winampa.exe for? does it really need to run this process every time windows load?

Make sure you have all the latest APEs.

winampa is the winamp agent, and s not really necessary.

Afaik missing APEs will only cause "unknown render object", are you completely unable to load them?
winampa gives you that icon in the systray (and consumes RAM).

or how about pictures that have gone missing in the reinstall proces?

i am not usre if i have all the .ape but even my simpliest presets dont work.
i also installed whacko AVS IV which put the required ape but they dont work

Extremely stupid question (but these things do happen): you're sure the presets are in the right directory? Do they show up at all in the right-click menu? What exactly happens when you try to load them?
