Running the AVS on the line-in channel

Can it be done? Can the AVS be run on the line-in, basicly what I am trying to do is have a pc hooked into a projector and want to put my decks through my sound card and have what ever sound they play converted into graphics on the screen. This means that instead of interprating the wave channel it would have to be hard wired through the line-in and mostly likely independant of winamp. Please please help me 🙂
