AVS Primer - Part I: Overview (v1.7.9)

Welcome to the first installment of AVS Primer! This pack contains an in depth-tutorial of all of AVS's effects and functions. I'm still working out the kinks, but this is a much better version than the original AVS Primer. The only things left (that I know of) are minor details in the comments, and small bug reports.

The Primer will now consist of several segments:

AVS Primer Part I: Overview (v1.75)
- Overview of all components and how to use AVS. (After I get all the bugs worked out here I'll release another version (v1.85))
AVS Primer Part II: Coding (v2.0)
- Overview of AVS's coding language and basic techniques. Essentially a complete rewrite of the math tutorial in the original AVS Primer.
AVS Primer Part III: Superscopes
- In-depth tutorial on coding superscopes.
AVS Primer Part IV: Dynamic Movements
- In-depth tutorial on coding Dynamic Movements.
AVS Primer Part V: Tips and Tricks
- General tips, advanced algorithms, and excerpts from the two Tips and Tricks threads in the AVS forum.
AVS Primer Part VI: Resource Pack
- Pre-coded effects, APEs, and other diversions.

There are 42 AVS files and a seperate text file (Other Renders.txt) explaining all of the default effects in AVS. There are also 6 other text files explaining other important aspects of AVS. If you don't know how to use AVS itself, consult the "What is AVS.txt" file.
All of these files are contained within the same folder. If you have Winamp 2.x installed, this is \Winamp\Plugins\AVS\AVS Primer Pt I: Overview\. If you hawe Winamp3 installed, this is \Winamp3\Wacs\Data\AVS\AVS Primer Pt I: Overview\. The default folder for Winamp is C:\Program Files\Winamp\ or C:\Program Files\Winamp3\.
If you still can't find the folder, search for "AVS Primer" on your computer.

When you go through the Primer you might find references to files that either aren't in here or don't explain what you wanted to know. Basically I've been flying by the seat of my pants for the last few months trying to get this all out of my way so I could move on to something else and there will be things like this in here - if I went through and tried to find them all I wouldn't find them and it'd just slow down this release even further. At some point I will try to go through here and proofread it myself but at the moment I just can't be arsed to do so (sorry folks). One of the things I planned on doing and eventually skipped was an explanation of variables, simply because putting it in one place instead of putting the relevant information in each of the different components would've been a bigger pain than I was in the mood for. So if you find anything like this, PLEASE send an email to therealatero@hotmail.com and I'll take care of it for the next release.

Eventually I will port all of these txt files into HTML with images for easier reading and understanding, although it is not a top priority with me right now.

If there is anything you wish to add, correct, or comment on, please email me at therealatero@hotmail.com. Watch for updates to the Primer at http://atero.deviantart.com/

Enjoy AVSing!
