AVS and Multimonitor
(I know, there's already a thread 'bout [ http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....threadid=64114 ] but that one didn't help me)

:igor:

Hello all guys out there,

I just bought a Matrox G550 and i'm completely satisfied with. But now I got some trouble running AVS out-of-the-window.

The overlay Mode (full-screen & desktop background) won't run at all, even if I:
-Deactivate the second screen desktop.
-Change the roles between pri and sec screen, i.e. the screen on 2nd out is defined as the pri screen
-Redefine the overlay color / activate the 'set desktop to color'-option
-Play around with the desktop color depth.

If I activate fullscreen without overlay-mode, it runs, but:
-Only on the pri screen
-Not that fast like overlay-mode.

I was able to get an AVS-Output only on the sec screen via the 'DualHead-Zoom' provided by the g550. With this funtionality, u choose an rectangle area on the first screen, which will be displayed fullscreen on the sec screen. Mm well, it runs very fine, but it is kinda no that what Im searching for, cause if you let something slip into the area u defined, that will be displayed too, and that shouldn't happen while performing a show on a party. And u can't use the pri screen well as you can't use the whole screen.

My questions are:
-How is it possible to redirect the AVS-Output to the sec screen directly ?
-How do I get the overlay-mode running ?
-Do I really have to run 2 vidcards instead of one g550 ?

Many thx in advance for any Help...

Activate the dvd max option and deactivate all other dualhead funktions. I use the G400 Dualhead Max and it works!

Yeehaw! Working!
Many thx, t-cut. I used this DVD Max option, and after
-i installed the latest drivers,
-disabled the scaling at all,

THIS SHIT WORKS! Yppie!

Hmmm, did i forgot something ? :D

Um, yeah, i'm using w2k,

desktop res: 1280x1024@85Hz, 16bit col-depth on pri screen
driver ver: 5.82.18.0
bios ver: 1.1.010
dualhead functionality: disabled
dvdMax: enabled, 4:3, no scaling (cause AVS already has a 4:3 res)
AVS: 2.5, 320x240, no pixel-doubling, overlay both in fullscreen and normal mode activated

edit
The DualHead-Multidisplay option could be turned on, the dvdmax output just hides the sec desktop. Good if you also do some work on your machine, and could use the sec desktop. I'm using different resolutions and color palettes for each screen, works fine and fast (nb: the screens have the same color depth. runs somehow faster, maybe not alot, but I feel it somehow :D )
