AVS wishes
Two features that would make the Advanced Visualization Studio (near) perfect are:
- Ability to export to AVI/MPEG
- Custom key mapping (manual beat detection, etc.)

how about UI functions on a separate thread ? that way AVS doesn't hiccup every time you select a menu item or move the config window.
i use AVS for live performances (and a damn fine tool it is too, especially with all those dedicated AVS'ers out there) This would have to be the single most important aspect of maintaining the flow and not interrupting the AVS frame update.

or how about blending for New/Changed APE's inserted into the sequence ?
This would bring AVS inline with MilkDrop which does a fantastic job of transitioning between preset settings by (what appears to be) tweening the values for waveforms, blends and colour values...
if i could modify AVS presets by adding in or removing APE's, then the longevity of a particualr visual could be extended by tweaking APEs incrementally.
since AVS allows a much wider range of render APEs, i envisage the inline blending as something akin to the crossfade transition used between presets (.avs) (but this may not be applicable to all preset types)
make sense?

AVI output
If you want AVI output, check the ape AVSGrabber which I made (http://Avs.acko.net/). There was a huge thread "AVS TO AVI PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN FINALLY" about it which also has a second AVS2AVI APE by someone else.
