Too many preset packs overflowing plugin section ! ?
HI!
I'am concerned about the endless number of preset packs, which were released. I have lost the overview about all the presets.... every day the number of packs grows and grows! I think, when we keep this trend, someday nobody can't decide, which to download and which not:confused:
Ok, Ok ... outthere is a lot of good stuff - but there also a large number of loveless made, bad and VERY basic presets!!
Whats your opinion about this????

well this happens with all the stuff made on computer: music, graphics, even rpg games produced massively on various makers and generators.
and that's good coz there's variety ....
but i think winamp.com should extend the scale for evaluating the presets. i think ten stars will be fine ...
than w could come to the website and choose to browse only 7+
packs for example ...

It is :)
The star rating is a 10 star rating in disguise... 4.5 star ratings and such are possible, you just can't vote a half-value yourself.
I do agree that 5 is a bit small, but it's a heritage from the old days when Winamp.com had 40 skins and you just needed to classify good from bad :)

well, winamp.com should follow its popularity and evolve.
but i understand they have more important things to do.
imho such "disguise" isn't the best option from psychologial point of view. people have tendency to vote with full stars i guess ...
