text output over RPC/pipe/TCP socket or similar
Hi!

Does anyone know of an AVS (or just general "visualization") plugin that simply streams information like beat-detection, spectrum data and volume using a simple text-protocol to a pipe or socket or network port? Or some other simpe and universal way to do RPC?

I would like to program some simple things that simply "do stuff" (LEDs, relays, etc.) according to that info, but would rather leave the heavy mathematical lifting to winamp/avs, and concentrate on doing my thing.

My language of choice is Perl - but a plugin like this,would open the world of visiualizations to any kind of programing language.
