visbot presents: the archive 2008
many avs releases have been lost in the past, due to various website ending their service or losing their data. the visbot archive has collected important packs from the history of avs. the whole archive can now be downloaded for a limited time in just one file.

i've been collecting a lot more packs, but it's incredible how much is no longer available. if anybody can help, please post the packs or send them by mail - preferably the original installers.

Attached a copy of PAK-9 AVS 2 without any of the pictures
I dont know if it helps but evilrice and l0tus both contributed to "I wanna be Frank Nagel", so if you get that you'll have at least a couple of their presets :/
thanks for trying to save the presets for posterity (all of them I mean), its entirely possible they will just disappear forever otherwise.

I guess all of the visbot releases are being kept seperate? I wasnt sure if you were doing compilations but I see the winamp forums compilations in there

i left out the visbot releases indeed. when the archive was started, it was meant to collect the pre-visbot releases of members. i might change this in future!

1) click on 'gigasize'
2) enter the three characters in the textbox next to it
3) click the button next to it
4) wait one minute
5) click the download button
6.1) save the download to your harddisk.
6.2) A new window will come up with some registration stuff. Close it.
you're done!

there will be an update in october, presumably on the 3rd. not too many packs were added, but there are new packs from asd5a, zxe, ishan, pottsy, skin consortium and myself.

a big up to da16x, who send me a bunch (150mb) of presets, both zips and installers. for now i added most of the packs from the m.i.a.-list, replaced some zips with their original installer and i added some prominent packs. over the next month i will go through the 1600 files to see what else can be added to the archive.
the current version of the archive now contains 468 packs from 83 artists. you can download it via rapidshare or gigasize.
