Get error message when gmegabuf is used
Hello! So the situation is that: if i switch to a preset that uses gmegabuf, there isn't any problem; but when i want to switch to another preset winamp crashes with a windows error box. Ok this isn't so serious problem i can survive this, but when i close the AVS window it says:
"Plug-in executed illegal operation. Restart of winamp is recommended"
Ok after that nothing happens, but when i use winamp again and turn the AVS on (witch naturally displays the last preset with the gmegabuf), i cannot view any otherones.
I tried re-install, update etc. winamp and it doesn't worked. I have Windows Vista, Winamp 5.33, AVS 2.81d.
Please somebody help!!!
And there's another thing: i cannot create new preset.

solution
Delete the preset and then delete the avs.dat file in the folder called plugins. that should clear the avs preset backup and go to a random preset when started up again.
Oh and the fact your using vista is prolly another reason.
According to my knowledge a vista port is not available.
Vista runs in a partitioning system called NTSF and runs on a 64b FAT file system.
That might explain your problems.
Suggestion
Dump vista and go XP.
for the time being.

Sorry it isn't working i've done what you said but nothing changed. (for sure i tried to replace the content of vis_avs.dat with the content of another preset but it didn't work too)
So is there any hope to make it function, or i can forget it forever? (is it sure there isn't any "patch" for vista?)

hmm
Thats one you'll have to ask the winamp development team.
go to the the forum thread for request and you might get your answer.

Thanks, anyway i solved the problem by replacing the avs dll and dat with the same files from another computer.
