Classic skin vis at the same time as AVS
Hi folks,

A quick but hearty "Thank you" to everyone involved with Winamp. It has provided me with years of reliability and fun.

While I originally registered to the forum to seek help for vis solution, I got lucky with the search engine. So, I decided to post something about my finding:

I recently reformatted my drive and upon reinstalling Winamp I found I could no longer see the spectrum analyzer when AVS was active. The solution I found was setting the winamp.ini variable 'disvis' to zero.

I have no idea how I got this variable to change in my prior installation but I suppose someone else might. At any rate, it worked and I enjoy using AVS (overlay mode, set to desktop) with the classic skin spectrum analyzer. As long as I can have this configuration I'll continue to be a dedicated Winamp user.

there's an option somewhere in the preferences window "disable inbuilt vis when plugin is enabled" or something.

That option exists under the "Plug-ins" branch of the preferences. I missed that one :p
