Major Overlay Issue
ok, so i was using the AVS overlay feature while doing other stuff (off computer) and winamp crashed. when i restarted my computer, i noticed that even though winamp was not running, my computer was still attempting to produce some sort of overlay effect, only, it spread from just black to EVERYTHING

as you can see, its not only annoying, it screws up text and images which makes using my computer very hard indeed. ive tried uninstalling the plug-in, uninstalling winamp (both dirty and clean), restarting my computer many a time, and i know that AVS uses the CPU instead of the vid card so re-installing my video drivers wont help.

im using WindowsXP Pro with SP2, winamp 5.31(x86), 1280x1024 resolution using 32bit color quality.

help please

Actually in this case it is your best bet.

Overlay mode uses a hardware feature on graphics cards.

For future reference this kind of "dirt" on the screen is the fault of the graphics card 90% of the time. Similar junk gets rendered if you overclock too far or if the driver is unstable.

have to go with jheriko on this. my comp was doing the same thing. re-installing the drivers cleaned it up real nicely.
