Will AVS ever have a 3D API?
Let's be honest folks, I haven't really seen a significant boost in performance in AVS from my Athlon 2000XP - 3200XP - 3800X2.

Thats because its all done by the CPU. If it could use my video card instead - nVidia 7900GT - I think I'd see some insane framerates.

yeah, but avs isnt 3d at all, its pure pixel pushing, so go figure.

HW acceleration would be good... but the effort involved in making such an APE or suite of APEs is as much as making a new visualisation plugin from scratch.

Also it would have be hacky and borky in lots of ways just to make it useable :)

Of course, you could always write one yourself...
