WFC4
[/lurkmode]
I've received questions about if it was okay to start with WFC4.

I've never 'owned' the forum, or it's compilations.
My thoughts and opinions have always been worth as much as anyone elses, so.. there's no need to ask for permissions or anything, really.

Have fun with WFC4 guys. Please just to keep in mind what the word 'community' means.

For whoever is going to run it, pm me if you would like to have the passwords for:
*winamp.forums[at]gmail[d.t]com
*winamp-forums.deviantart.com
*winamp.com profile
*etc

If needed, my forum will stay online too.

When we first began, I was convinced that we couldn't pull WFC1 off. Obviously, I was wrong.
I can only hope that y'all can prove me wrong about this community now, too.

31st January 2006 08:20 UTC

Well guys, I've been thinking long and hard about this compliation. If no one else offers, or objects, I would like to take a shot at running this. I won't be submitting, but I would still like to play a role in the creation.

Stepping up, I have a few new ideas to incorporate into this compilation which I don't want to reveal just yet, but I have a feeling that you will really enjoy the changes. With this pack, I hope to bring the ever-changing and evolving AVS community together and closer, to create one of the best packs of the year!

31st January 2006 09:26 UTC

I'll tentatively say I'm in... I'm sure I'll be able to shift into preset making mode at some point before its release

31st January 2006 10:47 UTC

Maybe this time I'll be readily post my work. I just say that I'm in (maybe in WFC3..) but not posting any of my work, jerk. This time I make it for real. There's 4 presets specially made for WFC4, so I'm in!

31st January 2006 11:41 UTC

i am prolly in

31st January 2006 13:36 UTC

I'm definitely IN! :D

1st February 2006 08:34 UTC

in...

1st February 2006 15:45 UTC

I'm sorry to say, but i'll have to skip this one. You might already have noticed my rather scarce presence in the AVS forums recently (due to pretty much work for uni during this semester). But there is certainly not enough time for AVS'ing atm. I hope that i'll have at least a bit more free time next semester... :hang:

Anyway, good luck and all the best for WFC4!! :D

1st February 2006 21:44 UTC

Okay, we'll I've finally had some time to take a look at all of this and I think I've got a good idea of how to run this one.

I've found that in review of the previous compilations, an average of 15 original presets were submitted by an average of 9 different artists. The size of the packs were of great issue and discussion in the previous compilations, however reduction was never needed. Keeping in style, if the amount of original presets becomes too large a system of reduction can be discussed.

However with only 5 people so far, this may not be needed. I'm hoping for at least a few more than this! Where's Tugg, JFASI, StevenRoy? I've seen Zamuz, Synth-C and Yath popping in from time to time. There surely must be a few more people who would like to participate! So come on, folks!

Well first and foremost, I would like to set a deadline for the original presets, which is: March 12. "March 12?!", I hear you ask. Well, 39 days seemed like a nice number. Not only that, February is the shortest month so I wanted to have it be a bit longer than that. And not only that, my break from school begins the following day. Therefor, I'll have time to organize all the presets and send out the submissions for remixing.

By March 17, you should all have received your originals for remixing. The deadline and the plans for the remixes will be released and discussed at this time. I had planned for April 13, but if more time is needed it is certainly negotiable, as is anything else in this post. If anyone is unhappy with what I've suggested, please feel free to say so! If more time is needed for anything, or if anyone has any other things they would like to suggest, I'm always open for ideas!

So as the last compilations, anyone wishing to join should send no more than two (2) presets to winamp.forums[at]gmail[dot]com by March 12.

Finally, have fun, but remain diligent! March will be here before you know it!

1st February 2006 21:59 UTC

Yay, off we go!

btw: KarmAVS looked promising too. I'm sure he would want to participate!

1st February 2006 22:07 UTC

Indeed, I was very impressed by his work!

As always, the more the merrier. :)

2nd February 2006 04:08 UTC

I'm sorry I'm late, but I'm in. At least I'll try.

2nd February 2006 05:17 UTC

You're not late, it's just started. Just send your best two presets in by March 12. :)

Now, who else can we get...

2nd February 2006 08:19 UTC

Oh, I'm definitely in.

4th February 2006 05:30 UTC

I might be able to do something.

4th February 2006 11:11 UTC

Please don't matt, spare us the trouble of having to let you down...

YAY!! okay! *opens winamp* off to "work" I go

5th February 2006 17:15 UTC

i'd love to contribute something, if possible..

12th February 2006 04:39 UTC

i'm in

14th February 2006 18:52 UTC

i'll try to make something....have my exams from 20th Feb so cant really promise...but i'll send the presets if i get them done in time...

24th February 2006 09:01 UTC

im done

24th February 2006 09:02 UTC

You dont win a prize

24th February 2006 09:16 UTC

But..... You said (nothing) I wanna prize!!! /sarcasm

25th February 2006 12:54 UTC

sent mine in. i need to remix guys! :]

26th February 2006 03:18 UTC

Sorry for all the delays and absences, my computer hasn't been working lately. In a moment, I'll check out the presets submitted so far and give everyone a sort of update.

To Yathosho: On March 17, once all the original presets have been submitted, they will be released for remixing.

26th February 2006 14:17 UTC

So the deadline of original presets set on March 17 eh?

Damn! Time is running out..

26th February 2006 16:38 UTC

I need to wait a bit more before its officially the last minute and I can start work :P

26th February 2006 17:07 UTC

I have one ready, with one in the works, and one cheapish backup in case that one flops, so I'm good.

27th February 2006 00:44 UTC

JaVS_v2.5, incorrect. The deadline is March 12. I don't know how all the time zone conversions and shit works, so anything submitted after I wake up on the 13th will not be included. :p

By the 17th, the remixes should all have been distributed. I'm doing this because I have a lot of shit going on, and may not have time to organize and send them all out the same day that they're due in by.

As of yet, there is 3 presets by 2 artists. Keep up the good work!

27th February 2006 09:59 UTC

Shit, a bit misunderstanding.

Thanks for the informations, dude!

28th February 2006 00:41 UTC

Wow. Just wow. That completely knocks off five days of itinerary. More work.

28th February 2006 03:00 UTC

i have done one preset for now... holding onto it for a bit tho incase i have any fantastic ideas...

1st March 2006 00:50 UTC

What if I gave in something I already published?

1st March 2006 01:45 UTC

I would prefer original and exclusive presets. However since Kar-ma submitted a preset that had already been published, it would be unfair to tell you no. So, sure, go ahead. :)

1st March 2006 03:14 UTC

I mean, I'm working on a new one, but I have an old one as a backup.

1st March 2006 03:37 UTC

Well if push comes to shove, submit them both! Each preset has an opportunity to increase the size of the pack by 3 (1 original and 2 possible remixes).

1st March 2006 21:59 UTC

Well, I meant I have one ready, one in the works, and one old one finished.

2nd March 2006 00:43 UTC

Update: 4 presets by 3 artists.

2nd March 2006 06:36 UTC

Sent one! :)

But not-so-exclusive..

2nd March 2006 14:27 UTC

Thanks, JaVS. Try to work on one more before the deadline. And please, next time try to make an original preset.

Update: 5 presets by 4 artists.

As with everyone else, the whole point is to have original presets, exculsive to this pack. This way when it's released, your newest work will be displayed. I suppose I should have made this more clear in the beginning, but from here on out, please try to create submit something new.

3rd March 2006 08:43 UTC

my preset has been sent.

3rd March 2006 10:54 UTC

Even though I'm just a n00b and I haven't released my first pack yet... can I be in on this one?

3rd March 2006 15:44 UTC

I dunno, that 'Junior Member' status doesnt say much for your commitment to the forums

3rd March 2006 17:32 UTC

Come on, guys! What's with submitting only one preset? Understandingly, some may submit another preset still before the deadline is up. But, when 3 of the artists have already said that this is all that will be submitted, this could turn out to be quite a small pack.

QOALsoft: I think it may be a little late. If you feel you can create two, or even one, original preset in 9 days then we'll take a look at it. I do remember seeing your thread concerning your first pack in development stages, and was a bit impressed. Otherwise, you may want to wait for the next compilation. I suppose it's up to you from here. :)

3rd March 2006 17:47 UTC

why not give him a try, if he can send presets in time

3rd March 2006 17:52 UTC

Perhaps my post was misinterpreted, I have no problem with him submitting. I just think it may be hard to get them in on time. If he can, that's great!

4th March 2006 06:35 UTC

maybe i should do another? :|

You are forgetting the strong and proud tradition of pushing back deadlines for winamp forums compilations

4th March 2006 16:35 UTC

anyway who is making the intro?
and whats the deadline for the intro?
i am asking because i got some intro-worth stuff in the back.

:) I suppose... But this is why I set the initial deadline at 40 days, I figured this would leave ample opportunity but I also forget how lazy avs artists are. :p

To ASD5A: I have no problem with you creating the intro for this pack. I had thought someone else had volunteered but, looking back, perhaps I'm thinking about WFC3.

4th March 2006 22:33 UTC

Yeah, you could be thinking about that intro I made for WFC3. (I'm still proud of that one.) I've been working on ideas for a new intro (complete with new custom font!), but I think I'd be lucky to get that working right in time for WFC6.

Anyway, I've actually got three WFC4 presets -nearly- ready to send in. Since I still have some time, though, I'm going to continue looking for ways to tweak and improve them a bit. Once the deadline (the 12th, thank goodness!) nears, then I'll choose the two that I think turned out the best.

5th March 2006 02:10 UTC

You may expect my submission(s) at the eleventh hour:D

5th March 2006 02:44 UTC

I have two presets in store for you.
One looks quite good and is 'ready, willing and able', the other looks even better but needs some performance tweaking.
I'll send them in once the 2nd is ready too.

Do not yet think we're losing the race :)

5th March 2006 06:44 UTC

StevenRoy: Sweet! :D As for the intro, yep. I looked back at the previous compilations and did a D'oh!

JFASI: Huh? As in today? I'm confused, but excited.

Grandchild: I'm really looking forward to your presets. I haven't seen too much of your work, but I'm always hearing good reviews about you. :)

On to other matters: Would anyone be willing to write an installer for the pack? I believe Jheriko had mentioned, in WotL's forums, that he would do it, but if he's no longer able to we could find someone else. If all else fails, Pimpbot should suffice.

Also, I was thinking of redesigning the images previously used for the packs. Meaning, at deviantART and Winamp.com, when you see the link to click on the pack, and the larger image used to display the preview of sort, and the opening image of the installer. I'm not sure what to call these, but I think you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I had begun working on this before my hard drive was destroyed. What I had was the Winamp logo at the top of the page, centered in a canvas of 275x425, with all the names of the participants around it. I thought it would be cool to personalize it a bit, and used my Wacom tablet to write everyones names. Well, with my hard drive destroyed, the drivers for the tablet were destroyed. And since I'm an idiot and threw the recovery CDs away, I can't use it unless I find a place to retreive the drivers.

Well, what do you guys think about this? I know that's not what is important, but I think it would be a nice addition or feature. If anyone would like to attempt to redesign this, please feel free to and send your ideas to the same email address. If not, I'll whip something up quick when the final release nears closer. :)

5th March 2006 16:32 UTC

By the eleventh hour I meant the last minute. Sit tight.

Oh you misguided fool

6th March 2006 16:51 UTC

a list of all participants could be nifty for me..
it would intro making alot easier if i knew who participates.
however intro is 90,2924% done (need to make a .bmp for every participant and need to think about a neat startup effect and frame rate independancy)

Go ahead, blush.

7th March 2006 01:07 UTC

ASD5A: The deadline for the original presets is still a week away, and may end up being pushed back a few days more. When all the originals have been received and sent out for remixing, I'll send you the final list.

8th March 2006 17:37 UTC

nice
*starts working on normal wfc4 preset cos he doesnt what to submitt a flowy preset*

8th March 2006 21:33 UTC

I think I may have to work on a preset as well. But since Reincarnation, I have barely even opened the editor for more than a few minutes. I don't think it'll be in by the deadline, but I'll distribute it later for remixing if anyone wants it. :p

8th March 2006 21:59 UTC

I hardly open the editor for more than an hour. Which would explain how few cool things I have cranked out lately...

10th March 2006 02:03 UTC

Just letting everyone know, 84 hours left. Get cracking, guys! :)

10th March 2006 22:46 UTC

I'm on my merry way. I'll see you at midnight.

11th March 2006 21:12 UTC

There, my two are sent! (Whew!)

11th March 2006 21:52 UTC

I'm on.

12th March 2006 01:06 UTC

Update: 10 presets by 7 artists.

37 hours remaining.

12th March 2006 13:00 UTC

hmm.. i guess i cant do my tech heavy preset intime..
but theres still my backup preset

12th March 2006 19:52 UTC

Update: 12 presets by 8 freaks.

198 minutes remaining.

13th March 2006 00:03 UTC

Lemme guess everybody:

MUST......CODE......FASTER................*GROAN*........*DROP*

Warning! That is not an official time measure! :p

You guys still have plenty of time: 13 hours and 41 minutes, as of this post. To keep it simple for me, the deadline is for when I wake up tomorrow. :D

Anything after that will not be accepted (unless prior arrangements have been made).

13th March 2006 10:24 UTC

So.... no deadline extension? :weird:

13th March 2006 15:17 UTC

pm me if you feel like speaking out to me about anything! :p ;)

13th March 2006 23:29 UTC

Ok, so it's now officially over, or am I just wrong?

14th March 2006 01:09 UTC

Yes, the deadline is officially up.

Two extensions have been previously arranged, but the presets should all be distributed for remixing by the end of the week. I apologize for the delay.

14th March 2006 01:31 UTC

Sounds good, the sooner the better.

14th March 2006 02:41 UTC

Ooooh, the suspense. Can't wait to see what I get!

14th March 2006 22:35 UTC

Neither can I. I only hope it isn't something that would really bust my balls, like some of UnConeD's stuff.

15th March 2006 10:15 UTC

bleh, I was still working on my second preset... still not finished

your loss, its a dynamic lighting extravaganza!!! :P

at least i got one in this time :)

15th March 2006 15:10 UTC

I made 2 leet presets since the deadline, they both pwn the 2 I submitted. :(
But this way they'll be in my pack :)

15th March 2006 22:32 UTC

I actually put an hour's work into getting the comments right... The rest was eeeeeeasy.

16th March 2006 03:38 UTC

Update: 13 presets by 9 artists.

No, I'm still waiting on ASD5A and Pak-9. :(
But mine is finally finished. I've worked for 17 days in a row, and have had no time for avsing. However, just about 7 minutes ago I deemed it finished. :)

16th March 2006 04:28 UTC

No, scratch that. I've just discovered a major flaw with my preset. Unless I can fix it with a quickness, I will be absent from submitting to WFC4. :(

Fixed! :D
And sorry for the double post.

16th March 2006 23:53 UTC

Well, I'm kinda going to need the remixes as soon as possible, since I'm going to have little time for AVSing later on...

17th March 2006 13:57 UTC

backup preset submited!

18th March 2006 23:18 UTC

Check your email. :)

The presets have been sent out for remixing. Everyone should have received a zip file containing 2-4 presets.

There was no set order in deciding who you would be remixing. I had my brother assign everyone a number and write the numbers onto torn pieces of paper. He then rolled the pieces into balls and I pulled them out of a hat.

When all was over, I realized that some of you may not be too thrilled about who you got to remix, but this is a pack for the whole community. Anyway, I'm sure we can all think of something for the presets. :)

The deadline is yet to be discussed. Since some of us had trouble with the previous deadline, why not try for April 30? If more time is needed we could extend it. On the other hand, if they're all in before that, you may get a pleasant surprise a few weeks early. :D

Edit:
To Jheriko: Contact me for your zip file. I didn't have an email address to send it to.

19th March 2006 06:14 UTC

Hey, I got nothing? :weird:

19th March 2006 19:59 UTC

jheriko@gmail.com

20th March 2006 23:43 UTC

deadline is cool with me

21st March 2006 09:06 UTC

One remix, done!

But not yet been sent.. :P

21st March 2006 10:42 UTC

Deadline seems a bit long to me... remixing doesnt take as long as original content

21st March 2006 16:39 UTC

my experience with organizing avsociety and visbot packs is.. the deadline itself doesn't matter, as most people send in on the last day.. just gotta put pressure and send many reminders :)

ps: i'd be cool with an earlier date, but nothing wrong with giving people time (though they will not use it!) ;)

21st March 2006 18:11 UTC

I have to admit, I have no good ideas for my remixes.

22nd March 2006 10:19 UTC

Fuh.. my remixes have been sent :)

22nd March 2006 19:30 UTC

JFASI: if you have just one hour to spare, sit down, add/delete/modify random stuff and sth will catch your eye and you're hooked :)
"just" developing the new effect, fine tuning and you're done :)

@dsfs [now i know ;)]: it might be better for WFC5 if you'd make a final check which presets are send to whom [and make modifications]. Cause if you let you're little brother do it, what should e.g. Matt do w/ Pak's or J's preset?

GC

22nd March 2006 19:51 UTC

I looked over the list again, you're just mad because you got stuck remixing Matt. :p

But seriously, I reviewed and did make a few modifications to the list. I was actually pleased with my brother's choices but I didn't want Jheriko to remix Pak-9 (and neither did Jheriko, consequently), and I didn't want StevenRoy and Yathosho remixing themselves (not quite sure how that happened).

Anyway, I suppose I could bump the deadline forward a week or so if we don't need the extra time. I myself haven't even started to remix but Pak's right, it doesn't take as long.

22nd March 2006 21:22 UTC

not sure if i should find grandchild - paper fly (yathosho's scissors mix) too radical..

:p

23rd March 2006 15:14 UTC

nah, I'm almost always pretty far from being pissed off.
I just thought some might've gotten sth that was too sophisticated for their AVSing abilities [not sth that's too bad]. but if you did have a look at the list in the first place then everything is just alright! :D
[I have in fact turned matts thing into sth almost watchable and if this'd fail I have two other cool presets to remix anyway]

"scissors mix" - doesn't sound like you just applied a Channel Shift ;)

GC

23rd March 2006 21:29 UTC

check my scraps

29th March 2006 07:56 UTC

Updates, anyone? So far, I've received two remixes from one artist.

For me, I've got one that's starting to look pretty good. I'm not too sure what more to do with it, so I'm taking the day off from it and let it sink in. I'll go back to it tomorrow and see what else I can spruce up a bit. I have three other presets to choose from to remix, but as of yet nothing has come to me.

29th March 2006 11:03 UTC

Mine are done I just need to remember to send them when I'm at home

31st March 2006 04:05 UTC

Mentioned on the second page, this was what I had in mind.

I had thought about writing everyone's name underneath just to spice it up a bit. Any ideas? Included in the zip are the jpg and the psd. Just a real rough draft. :)

31st March 2006 07:26 UTC

Looking good

31st March 2006 09:15 UTC

I like it, dont bother with peoples names though imo... and stick a pen in there too :P

http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/1...withpen0qr.png

31st March 2006 12:08 UTC

Ha ha :)

i like that pen :D

31st March 2006 15:26 UTC

that must be a hitech flying pen

31st March 2006 18:30 UTC

I like the pen, but it seems a bit photoshopped.

I'm a bit stuck on one preset of mine, but I've got one almost done.

1st April 2006 18:40 UTC

names in such a style could be handy for the intro

2nd April 2006 05:11 UTC

Ah, that's a terrific idea. Such as custom bitmaps, right? If that's the case I'll email you a zip file with some, and you can either email me back or PM me here on the forums.

2nd April 2006 05:47 UTC

Sorry for the double post (and the third and fourth that will ensue), but I changed my mind. I thought I would upload them here for all to see. If anyone doesn't like the way their name looks let me know what you'd like changed. :)

2nd April 2006 05:48 UTC

Part 2.

2nd April 2006 05:49 UTC

Part 3.

2nd April 2006 11:43 UTC

Part 3 is empty?

2nd April 2006 16:39 UTC

always a please to download thumbs.db :p

2nd April 2006 17:31 UTC

Uh, oops. :D

Here's a better zip. I saved them as jpgs this time and what do ya know, they all fit in 1 file. I've still got the original bitmaps as well the psd files. Grandchild, I'll try and redo yours and should have it up later today when I have more time.

2nd April 2006 23:37 UTC

I've got both of my remixes done, but I'm hanging on to them for a while in case I come up with better remixing ideas. I'm going to try to have two or three remixes of each, and then I'll send in the best one of each once the deadline (the 30th, right?) nears.

5th April 2006 19:19 UTC

hmm.. like my pic but there is one thing: i like my 5 more 3ish

6th April 2006 03:03 UTC

Eh? Any way you can show me? Write it down and take a picture of it, maybe?

I just checked the email, no new remixes. I've been lazy with mine. I have one that's about finished and another that's just getting started (3 days ago, I opened the preset and saved it under a new filename!), but that's it. :p

6th April 2006 22:10 UTC

No offense (Mystery Author), but I just can't find anything to do with yours...

Is it ok if I just send in one?

7th April 2006 00:40 UTC

It's quite alright if you only send in one, but don't give up hope on the other just yet. You still have a few weeks left, leave it alone for a few days and see what happens. :)

7th April 2006 03:35 UTC

I've been leaving it alone for a long time. It just goes to show you, I still can't crack DM's...

7th April 2006 10:27 UTC

This should help

8th April 2006 02:35 UTC

Bah! I already have one of these booked:

8th April 2006 18:13 UTC

my first remix looks like I let framey do a style mix for me. I can't possibly submit it like that...

/runs off to re-remixing

9th April 2006 21:59 UTC

If there's a DM that you can't figure out, maybe you could see what happens if you simply delete it. Then you can try to find something else to put there, and hopefully undo some of the damage you caused by deleting that DM. Perhaps that's cheating, but it is possible to get an interesting remix that way.

11th April 2006 08:55 UTC

yes i still live, just updating my mobo to a amd 64-bit 3200 sli board :) (yeah pc pms for matt), and also we have just moved so yeah that took a while.

I was just wondering, when is this coming out because i can't be bothered reading 2-4 pages.

11th April 2006 21:44 UTC

I believe the deadline for submitting remixes is the end of the month. I'm nearly ready to send mine in, but I'm going to use this extra time to continue tweaking and fiddling and stuff. (With the presets, I mean.)

14th April 2006 13:37 UTC

okay... I've got 2 remixes done, but the third one im having trouble with... Also denkensefersich, i like your handwriting (or the font or whatever) but.... Can I be Written as Kar-ma? Please? BTW i'll be sending you those 2 remixes soon

20th April 2006 06:43 UTC

Update: 6 remixes by 3 artists.

Kar-ma, sorry for the delay. I'll, indeed, change the writing and send out the updated file. I've been lazy and haven't had much time to do it. And not only that, but I forgot how I created them. Stupid me, I deleted the .psd files that contained all the layering.

By the way, great job with the remixes!

22nd April 2006 22:43 UTC

When's the deadline again? April 30th?

23rd April 2006 00:15 UTC

Update: 8 remixes by 4 artists.

JFASI, the tentative deadline is April 30. If time needs to be extended a bit, it's not big deal. I'll probably need more time for myself as well. If it becomes too great of an inconvenience, I'll submit the one that I have and discard the rest.

26th April 2006 15:53 UTC

need updated name texers:
mail to danielmuller at web dot de

26th April 2006 21:35 UTC

Update: 12 remixes by 6 artists.

Grandchild, I've worked on yours but nothing good has come of it. I hope it's not too much upsetting.

ASD5A, I'm waiting on a response from Kar-ma. I've updated his texer but I just want to make sure it's okay. BTW, would you like another texer that says WFC4? Or anything else? It's been a while since I saw the intro, you may have changed it quite a bit though.

27th April 2006 14:08 UTC

a wfc4 texer would be really cool...

27th April 2006 22:18 UTC

As for my bitmap, I think the two horizontal lines on the F are too pronounced...

28th April 2006 04:32 UTC

ASD5A: "You've got mail!"

JFASI and Grandchild:
Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to go back and change all of the texers. Kar-ma's was pretty easy, but I would have to rewrite both of your's. The handwriting can take quite a while, I spent around an hour each on Jheriko's and Yathosho's. If I happen to find more time again before the release I may give it another shot. Sorry, guys. :(

29th April 2006 09:32 UTC

Uh, tomorrow is the deadline.. ;)

// time is running out

29th April 2006 10:26 UTC

*goes off to make the second remix

29th April 2006 13:08 UTC

I've just got some minor changes to make. to mine... And write some comments...

Wow, I've got a bit of work to do.

29th April 2006 18:43 UTC

I only had time for one remix, and I just finished that on Wednesday.

Alright, I'll give you guys just an extra bit of time. Try to have these in by GMT 17:00 tomorrow. As of now, this should leave you just over 24 hours. If all goes well, I may have the pack released later in the night. :)

30th April 2006 15:01 UTC

sidenote:

By now I've had 5 emails that were meant to be sent to the wfc email address. Please don't send your stuff to info.wotlatgmaildotcom but to winamp.forumsatgmaildotcom

30th April 2006 17:42 UTC

Alright guys, the deadline is drawing near. For those few still left, you have just about an hour and a half to finish them up and send them in.

WotL, sorry about all the emails. I've tried to advise everyone about the correct address.

Again, these are to be sent to: winamp.forums[at]gmail[d.t]com

30th April 2006 21:59 UTC

Ok. I'm in.

1st May 2006 01:02 UTC

Alright, everyone! Winamp Forums Compilation 4 is out!

I changed some of the filenames around to keep them in a conventional order. Anyway, thanks for all of your help in the project. I had a great time organizing this, I hope you guys didn't mind me too much. Thanks again, and enjoy! :D

1st May 2006 01:15 UTC

I noticed that the outgoing mail with the "winamp.forums" address had a Reply-To header set to the "info.wotl" address. When I clicked on the mail with my presets to remix, and then hit "Reply" to send in the completed remixes, I wound up with the wrong address.

Well, there it is, WFC4! I had fun with this, how about the rest of you?

1st May 2006 01:50 UTC

It sure was fun. I'm glad that my remixes got in in the end. I thought that the deadline was 17:00 Eastern Standard time, so I kinda panicked whan I realized it. I'm glad it all came together. I learned all sorts of idioms and methods in the course of making this pack, thanks to you guys. It was great.

1st May 2006 11:26 UTC

Good work everyone

1st May 2006 12:16 UTC

A really nice and refreshing pack! And very balanced too imho!
Congratulations!

1st May 2006 22:47 UTC

All very nice however there is one preset that crashes my winamp > WFC4 - 33 - Remix - Yathosho - Electronique (Boxique Mix by PAK-9).avs .

Im running winxp pro. Im guessing that it's a bad .ape file or is it a .ape that always crashes winxp thats being used. any help would be great. The rest of the pack works flawlessly

Ive included below a very detailed list of the ape's I have in my winamp directory I think I have it well pruned but if you can spot something that does not belong or is a outdated version or any that are problematic please let me know.

1st May 2006 23:30 UTC

Thankyou very much pak-9 for the quick response.

Problem solved ;)

Thanks again

There :)

2nd May 2006 06:49 UTC

:( I was sure I included this updated APE. The deviation has now been updated with a link to the newest version of AVSTrans.

Personally I would remove 50 or so percent of those APE's simply because they are rubbish and presets that use them tend to be a bit rubbish too; there is no harm in leaving them there though so I suggest you just leave them unless you know what you are doing.

Generally people will include the lastest versions of whatever APE's are required in the pack installer, there was just a bit of a slip up this time.

2nd May 2006 15:05 UTC

pak, there's an effect list too much in the outro [between J and Matt] :p it just displays the default texer...

2nd May 2006 19:53 UTC

It should be WFC4_Kar-mAVS.bmp

dfs must have not put it in the installer

3rd May 2006 01:00 UTC

Actually, it should not be the WFC4_Kar-mAVS bitmap. I assume you got this from my attachment earlier in this thread. The .zip file that I sent you on #avs contained all the updated bitmaps, including WFC4_Kar-ma.

I didn't include it into the installer, because I had assumed you used all of the updated files. I hadn't noticed this at all before GC just pointed it out.
