Well you only need to learn C++, Direct-X, PHP, XML, JavaScript, G#-oatse, TripleX, Python, Assembly, Monty, b00n--, Flash, Shockwave, T(_)bgrl and of course AVS.

That should do it!

At least give him some encouragement :)

Go ethradio! You can do it!

Python??? Why Python???

13th December 2005 23:28 UTC

Why would -anyone- use Python!?

Anyway, there isn't really a simple way to embed AVS into a web page. (Yet.) Your best bet is probably to use AVSgrabber to capture AVS output into an AVI file, convert that into something that gets really good compression, and then you can put that movie file on the page instead of just the music... and kiss your bandwidth bye-bye!

That's definitely not the way I'd do it. I program in Java, so naturally I'd want to try to port AVS to Java. That could be a fun little experiment! (Maybe I should actually try that some day, when I have infinite time and space.)

13th December 2005 23:58 UTC

Don't knock python. Its the only decent free thing that serves the purpose of a general purpose scripting language... although it does have some questionable design choices... its not that bad.

And FYI Java is for noobs. C++ is where its at, its prolly the highest level langauge which makes sense in terms of what really happens in the background...

Also AVSgrabber doesnt work with the latest winamp...

14th December 2005 00:41 UTC

With jheriko, definitely. Only thing better is low-level, like assembler.

BTW, your presets rock, jh; dunno how your stuff got overlooked (sorry).

14th December 2005 07:12 UTC

oh kk well im getting confusing with this but the only way i need yours its that what i want or pm me whatever!!

14th December 2005 07:13 UTC

thanks everyone for helping me but StevenRoy pm me and send it me that script you will made :)

14th December 2005 07:43 UTC

yeah... that script is really going to happen...

14th December 2005 07:55 UTC

I bet it's something nasty.

14th December 2005 13:11 UTC

well whatever but i just want to be made in java! ;)

14th December 2005 16:08 UTC

Well if you are to start learning languages you are not gonna need but learn the "hello world, please somebody code this" /like me/ i'd add tcl too :p

If you are asking that, you have no hope.

Secondly, I wouldn't put too much faith in java, its very slow and weak as a general purpose language. I find it extremely unlikley it could handle emulating even a severly reduced avs. There are lots of problems like .apes and evallib which are especially non-trivial to solve.

You need to calm down. Stop. Throroughly exhaust the internet of its resources. Come back here and ask questions.

Its not realistic to expect someone to write a script for this in less than several month, its prettly unrealistic to expect someone to do it for you... since we have all wanted this for a while...

Do some research and get real.

14th December 2005 17:57 UTC

well sorry then but i just need your about how to put visualizations from winamp to html page :) ive heard that some is using mysql and php and stuff like that and i dont even have gd idea about how to make one like that :S

14th December 2005 20:29 UTC

c++ isn't high level ;) its medium level at best. allthough there is nothing wrong with that.

14th December 2005 20:33 UTC

im bored

15th December 2005 03:15 UTC

... I thought this thread was revived... for __ knows why?!

15th December 2005 04:08 UTC

Wow...What one day's absence (I think) can do...

Well, I'd certainly give it a try, but I don't have the time or the willpower to sit and script something like that for more than two hours...But that's just me...

I've seen some sort of bizzarro AVS-ports, but they all suck, and tend to run at about, what, 10 fps, tops.

15th December 2005 05:49 UTC

well okay!

15th December 2005 10:06 UTC

And if we were normal people we would have started as "it's not possible". But it wouldn't have been so fun. Afterall, this one of the not so many superpowers we have. My othersuperpower is making beer disappear. It's like groovie, man. There is another dude here that can watch porn endlessly. And it's like wow! /normal people would dehidrate from that one/. Anyway good luck with that, but as someone above mentioned, just grab some of yer avs and post it on yer site.

15th December 2005 15:21 UTC

I have superpowers too, but those tend to be not for the eyes or ears of the children ;)

Though i do share the beer disappearing superpower with Jay too, we should just battle to find out who is better :p

15th December 2005 15:31 UTC

lol

15th December 2005 21:26 UTC

ethradio your sig is so ugly and big, you really dont need to advertise winamp on the winamp.com forums, please shrink it down or something

15th December 2005 21:27 UTC

sure i will sorry then!!

15th December 2005 21:29 UTC

much better

15th December 2005 21:30 UTC

well i didnt know about that thing but now its all fixed :)i just need a help of adding visualizations from winamp to html page do u know about ??

15th December 2005 22:10 UTC

Well, as was covered (I think) before. Use AVS grabber. It's easy to use, and creates either huge files of crap framerates. It's so much fun.

16th December 2005 00:16 UTC

:bin: or :lock:

16th December 2005 07:16 UTC

so where i can get AVS grabber ??? :D

16th December 2005 07:40 UTC

AVS grabber is here: http://www.acko.net/art/avs/ (at the bottom of the page)

How about Processing? Seems cool enough to do the trick.

I've heard that Python isn't that bad. And to finish up our convo on codes (cause we're all lame) I was raised on Visual Basic . . . 5 I think.

16th December 2005 07:42 UTC

okay thanks NemoOrange but http://processing.net/ dosent work :(

16th December 2005 13:26 UTC

I was looking at processing recently, it looks quite funky but I'm not really sure what it does that cant be done just as easily in other languages.

17th December 2005 12:58 UTC

Nah Tug.. all you need is some Javascript, HTML and CSS ;).

http://acko.net/dumpx/vis2.html

17th December 2005 13:40 UTC

Mmm, high resolution and speed! :p

17th December 2005 13:58 UTC

lol

17th December 2005 14:00 UTC

fake visualization may great!

17th December 2005 14:13 UTC

it dosent look gd hehe

17th December 2005 14:47 UTC

But it's what you wanted, is it not?

17th December 2005 14:51 UTC

yeah but like better Visualizations much better that its from winamp and of coruse when i play music it looks same in winamp and same effects.

17th December 2005 22:30 UTC

Hey, it's at least as responsive as half of newpicks :P

18th December 2005 10:04 UTC

cool =)

18th December 2005 10:11 UTC

i've never seen any visualization from winamp in html page... hahaha :D. i'll bet if someone could make it!

18th December 2005 10:13 UTC

there is some web tv station who using that!

20th December 2005 16:55 UTC

can you tell me tha name of the station, or link

spawn telnet www.fsb.ru
for {set i 0} {$i<1000} {incr i} {
expect "connect failed"
send “spawn telnet www.fsb.ru $i "
}
Well this code may not be avs but it is cool and visual.
/well change website with your local investigation/security mnistry 100% guaranteed fun  /
