No visualizations
I recently noticed... (tried to D/L a AVS) that I have no visualizations... or something else... I tried everything I could before I came here... i looked through some FAQ's and what not... and still nothing...
all my settings say/are set so that I should see the visualizations... I have the version 5.09 ( I believe... I D/L winamp about 6 to 8 months ago)
I would appreciate some help...
thank you in advance...
also... what is the visualization (?) that appears on the main window called? and is there diffrent ones?

Final Whack isn't a plugin, it's a pack of presets for the AVS plug-in
When I said clicking I meant the small visualizer in the small window of the main window (not the video/vis dropdown)
To enable avs, this is what you should do:
go to: options>preferences>plugins>visualization
select Advanced Visualization Studio v2.81b [vis_avs.dll]
hit [Ctrl]+[shift]+[k]
AVS should open now, and when you right-click the avs window, final whack should be in that list

Try setting both plugin directories to "...\winamp\plugins", since that is where the actual plugin DLL files (for visualizations and practically everything else) are located.
These plugins automatically look in the "avs" and other subdirectories (depending on the plugin) for their components and presets and other data, so those locations shouldn't need to be configured. ("Presets" meaning the actual AVS files included in visualization packs such as "Final Whack". The visualization itself is AVS.)

Not really. All you can change is the visualization on the far right (by clicking on it you switch between off, spectrometer and oscilliscope). Actually theese are built in effects of your modern-skin. Some other modern-skins offer different animations at that point, but unless you're a skin-modder you won't be able to change that a lot. ;)
But who needs them anyway if you can have AVS! :D
