3D.ape is by Tonic, UnConeD made Metaballs3d.ape and amoebe3d.ape. Know your APEs.

3D.ape probably crashes because of the drop-down-menu. It does not crash (that fast) when you select the different maps with your mouse. But it is not such a great APE anymore.

Better to look at current day technology
