avsgrabber, how to use ???
hello guys

I'm prove since a while, to use the avsgrabber plugin for rendering a video output file . . .
but I don't understand how it's work and how I become a rendered avi file ? I put the avsgrabber(2) plugin in the plugin directory and I can select under the options-menu the avsgrabber output, but I don't can specify a outputdirectory or any others . . . ?
when I push the configure button, it occur absolutly nothing.? when I start play, the player work in a jolting manner but what he does and where it does, I don't know . . .

have anybody experience with this plugin and can help me ? or give it any trick by this plugin, or must I use a special version of the winamp player . . . ?

thanks for any creative answers ;)

PS: excuse my english, I come from germany :igor:

1 - load up preset
2 - open up editor
3 - '+' avsgrabber
4 - move avsgrabber to the END OF preset
5 - start grabbing

output directory should be the avs dir itself

The standard output directory is the "../winamp folder". But nevertheless, you have to select an output format first. Otherwise the grabber doesn't know 'how' to save your data. If possible select any uncompressed(AVI) format from the list (later you can still convert it to mpeg/divX/...).
On my machine winamp often crashed when i tried to rip into certain compressed formats.

ok thats work, but winamp crash when I try to grab . . . :(
what is the best combination about avsgrabber and winamp version ? now I'm use winamp 5 and avsgrabber 2.0 alpha, it don't work and crash always after the first 130 frames. indifferently what for outputformat I use . . .

Im using the same combination (winamp 5.05 + avsgrabber 2.0 alpha), too. But it only crashes when i try to rip into a compressed format like windows media or else. So i don't think that the problems result from a wrong combination of winamp/avsgrabber versions. Sure it doesn't work with uncompressed output? Remember to uncheck the "raw 32-bit mode" box, otherwise a change of the format takes no effect!
Well, that's it. If no one else can help, you should contact Steven Wittens (alias UnConeD), there's a link to his page in the config-box of the grabber.

I have prove the winamp version 3, and look, now all works pretty ;) still another question, give it a possibility to regulate the rendering framerate of avs ? in avsgrabber I can only set the playback-framerate, not the rendering framerate. it is difficult to synchronize after rendering when the fps during the capturing sway or be faster as playback.

or how attain a DVD compilant framerate and always synchronous to audio speed (bpm). because when it captured with 40 fps and played with 25 or 30 fps the lenght of audio and video are different.

any proposal ?

"Note: AVSGrabber is unsupported. Don't ask me for help if you can't figure it out or if it crashes."

What about the drivers of your graphics card? Try to install the latest version. Perhaps this will help out. That's my very last idea. Good luck with it ;)
