Luckily I don't visit here all that often but as my blood has cool from boiling point from answering questions like this in here normally here goes.
To get started simply read the FAQ at the start of the forum. It is not easy to make highly complex scenes like what say UnConeD would do you need mathematical skills, patience, commitment and an artistic eye. But if you have 3 of these skills you will be able no doubt to make something rewarding and beautiful in time. :)

all that you need is time, and you must never give up, and you need to have lots of nerves :)

Just screw with code in the movements, then if you're good, you can screw with code in the Super Scopes. Use render/simple to start with.

I'm sure you've said it to me a thousand times, my brain just immediately places it into my mental recycle bin, soon to be overwritten with a more important piece of data. Some random Doom III trivia or an obscure fact about penguins perhaps.
<PAK-9> What the hell does tuggummi mean anyway?
<Tuggummi> it means bubblegum in swedish
<PAK-9> uh huh, sure whatever
<Tuggummi> did you know that penguins live in large groups called colonies or rookery?
<PAK-9> really? huh, you learn something new every day.

I dont think I've ever done a 'god AVS', is it some kind of über-preset that makes you shout "I have seen teh face of GOD!!!"

No god avs is a complex 3d render with reflections that responds to music.
