an official word on plugin submission?
no need to start a discussion about where i should've posted it, this is certainly where many affected people read it.

since i'm not sure, if the webmasters are sure about the current problems, i'd like to point them out in hope to hear an official word on the issues.

* will the old components ever be merged into the current plugins section?

* creating new user accounts works, but one never gets an email with the password

* editing components produces errors

* editing plugins possibly produces errors (php-errors are shown, but the submission shows up on the profile page)

if anybody has to add an issue, do it here.

Thank you, I was wondering the same thing(s).

Sometimes after editing submission the rating drops down to zero (happened to my FireAVS2 pack). That's really annoying!

I tried to submit some AVS I waited about a month for it to get reviewed, and my account just disappeared!

Well in the 'backstage' forums, there was a thread in december saying it would be fixed in 2 weeks ;). Obviously that didn't work out.

I don't really see the problem though: it's just a database of submissions with comments on it. The basis is really simple. Getting it to scale shouldn't be a problem with proper database software and proper indexing. I sincerely hope they are planning something really big, phat and revolutionary, or they are gonna get flamed a lot :rolleyes:.

another issue (which already existed on the old website) is that submission names don't get deleted with the submission. when i delete something and resubmit that at some point, the name is still taken.

I've submitted one new pack, and edited a previous one about two months ago, though they're still not online.

yeah, that happened to my revisions pack once, it got removed from the published stuff, and when i tried to resubmit i had to upload it as 'r e v i s i o n s' with spaces in it :confused: (and shabaviz actually noticed this and created a new thread asking about the pack... now that's weird).

still missing the plugins from the former winamp components page, that's a real pity.

iirc, an earlier version of the winamp 5 website had the option to browse for plugins by a certain artists. that link seems to have disappeared.
