I'm back!!!
Well, they recovered most of the AVS presets off my laptop after it crashed; so I should have some amazing stuff coming in the near future!
Thought I'd give a little sneak peek at a remix I did to an old preset of mine.
Edit: I was disappointed that it didn't look as good on this computer as the one I made it on.
Maybe I'll find a fix. That's all for tonight!

where is everyone?!?
I just realized the format for posting AVS changed---sorry guys :o(UnConeD's Sticky thread)
Honestly, guys---I don't usually bite!
Okay, I know the DM in my preset has a divide by 0 every once in a while, but I've been trying to figure out how to fix it (or more specifically, what part is causing it) Uggh! It's been too long since I did AVS!
Steven (UnConeD)--if you're still around, could you give me a little help? What I was trying to do with this preset was create a semi-fluid DM that changes on beat. I wasn't nearly as successful as I'd hoped (you can probably tell me why), but currently I have a problem where every so often DM returns a value that I assume to be dividing by 0 (screen just goes to solid color).
How do I fix this, first (my guess is something to do with an "if" statement.) What would be the best way to tweak the DM to bypass this bug?
Once I get that fixed, what would you advise to make it more fluid? I'll pm you my e-mail. I know this question is hard to answer because it's not specific enough, but just a few ways to get it to do certain things (whether they do what I had in mind doesn't matter; it's the principle that matters).
Points I had in mind were:
Getting smooth movement changes punctuated with some change on beat in terms of the "zoom" aspect of "d"
How to get the areas of "interest" (in this case of the dysfunctional weirdish round things moving (or having a spasm) around in a smooth manner (easiest method just of creating a somewhat interesting changing pattern that doesn't require an awful lot of coding to get it to do exactly what you want, just to move around in cool patterns)
How to tell if there's a certain random value I like, what's causing it (how to rewrite it so it stays on derivations of a certain zoom aspect). I like it when it gets that effect where it's just colors moving; you can't really differentiate the scope or anything.
How to get the craziness to slow down/stop when there's no music (some aspect of "v" perhaps?)
How to correct weird round distorted areas (look like bunch of somewhat round lines) to a more smooth; cooler effect to move around
That's a lot of issues to start out with. I'm currently taking Honors Pre-Calculus, if that might be any help assessing my current knowledge of math.
Thanks a million

hmmmmmm! Forgot attachment!
 forgot attachment  Is this format you want for posting presets?
Note that it also includes original preset I posted in 1st message. Other 2: 1 is change superscope to dot mode; 2nd is remix to DM (still problematic, though)

Your preset is really hard to debug because it seems you just typed up random stuff. Hence there's little use in trying to figure out where you went 'wrong'.
At first sight, I think the culprit is rdrn=rand(100)/100;
Your d gets multiplied by this constant, and it can be zero (or close to zero).
If you don't have the new AVS2.7pre yet, get it now... the register-watch should be very useful for you in figuring out what values certain code produces.
Begin with simple modifications on x/y or r/d and go from there.

Okay, I downloaded the newest version posted by Justin, but what do I have to do to install it? I tried copying the files into the /plugin directory, plugins/avs directory.
I have WA 2.91. This isn't working :(
I think I might have eliminated the /0 problem, so I'll post another version
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So what thinks AVS ppl??? It's chaotic unless you get framerate at about 10-15 fps; but it looks pretty cool in that area.

sorry for bumping. Anyone care to comment on preset? Thanks
W00t! I'm a major dude as of this post
