AVS Prime (vv0.07)
okay...here it is...

AVS PRIMER PART I: OVERVIEW (V1.75)

this is a GAY TURTLE WAD installer and i'm in the process of making a new one...i haven't done real nsising for a while so i gotta figure it all out again...my DEEP RECTAL APOLOGIES to those whom i offend with my gay turtle wads :(

<edit> AVASTE THE TURTRLEZ!1 :F

27th August 2003 18:20 UTC

It won't install the stuff. It just skips over all of the files.

27th August 2003 18:38 UTC

i don't know what the fuck is wrong with it...it worked fine last night...i checked to make sure the files were there, added one i missed and recompiled...and now NOTHING works. i've compared it to five of my other .nsi's and there's nothing different except that it doesn't do autodetection.

well here's the zip then...:hang:

27th August 2003 18:43 UTC

one weird thing it's doing is that it's creating an avs folder inside of the winamp folder instead of the plugins folder.

WA 2.91

27th August 2003 18:55 UTC

yeah i noticed that. apparently my installer was majorly fucked up to begin with and i was looking at the wrong crap. fixed but about as useful as that zip is in the first place so i won't screw with it anymore :p

28th August 2003 00:01 UTC

Its great Atero, wonderful job.Bad things : spelling in .txt`s and the installer.WinZIP PWNZ!

28th August 2003 03:51 UTC

Nice job Atero, nice to see you still are working on something... :) Can't wait to see some of the stuff you have in Primer V.

28th August 2003 06:02 UTC

phaze you're an asshole. use a fucking nsis installer. zips suck.

but thank you :D

i'd appreciate it if you guys could come up with specific things for me to find and fix instead of just "spelling in the txts" - yea i know i made typoes but i'm more worried about getting the installer fixed than trying to go through everything myself and fix it. it'd be great if you could help me out in that respect :)

You say that rand(x) outputs a random number between 0 and x. I think its meant to be 0 and x-1. Eg, rand(2) is either 0 or 1.

And i know youv probably had enough by now, but it would be nice if you could do an explanation of the arc functions, as well as the sigmoid function.

I havnt actually read much of it yet, but it seems pretty damn good to me.

translations?!
 thank you!

will you publish the next version with *.htm files with the option to choose different languages?

I have done a german translation from the old primer version before but never completed and published it and my fu**ing 30 GB Maxtor crashed last moth (loose a very important folder with 1/2 of my backups :( )
So who will help me to translate the newer primer version(s)?

1) it says (i believe, but i'm too lazy to check right now...just got up) in the readme that i'm gonna be porting the txts to html
2) i also said that i'm gonna be doing a new version of the coding tut with updated information on all the functions (once again, too lazy to check, but it should be there)
3) i don't know french, german, japanese, spanish, finnish, korean, russian, portugese, swedish, dutch, and klingon, so you're just going to have to deal with english for the time being ;)

29th August 2003 01:25 UTC

thx@m²k!

1) ok im nearly ready with the html version (i will send it to you tomorrow! i am just to tired to finish it now)
2) take your time ;)
3) I am sorry for my bad grammar and i hope, that i will write better english in the next 3 months when i visit my family in LA

29th August 2003 01:45 UTC

Of course, this isn't the final version, so it is bound to change. I would wait until Atero makes the final release.

/me raises hand

If i've go enough time, i'd like to help you with the translations.

Doppelt hält besser :D

29th August 2003 08:07 UTC

Hmm... Finnish translation you say? :p

Shouldn't be a problem otherwise than explaining those math functions... But would i do it? hmm... that's something to think about... i wish JDm would still be interested in AVS, because he could do it with no sweat! I don't know could i do it so well.

29th August 2003 08:13 UTC

Hmm, you're form Finnland right?

And you understand whats written in Primer, right?

Conclusion: YOU CAN! ;)

29th August 2003 08:37 UTC

err.

why is everybody making these decisions about my primer without me???

and you should all listen to m2k....

29th August 2003 08:44 UTC

Because we don't really need you Atero :p

Heheh, well just planning for the future when the final version does come out, maybe i will translate it to finnish then. That is, if you want languange "packs" for it?

29th August 2003 13:30 UTC

atero? got my mail? can i publish the html version here?
or will you collect all translations and make a big package out of it?

ok i added a finnish flag :)
more languages needed? world wide AVS Primer? :p

@magic.x: danke, soll ich dir die html version schonmal schicken?

30th August 2003 10:10 UTC

3dino: no i don't want you publishing it here and i haven't checked my email in a bit cos hotmail is being a bizzatch. thank you for being so enthusiastic but i'd really rather wait on doing language packs until the final version is out, and i will be doing the html myself. but when the final version does come out i'd appreciate you doing a translation then :)

now can we get back onto the topic - the topic being trying to find errors in the primer anywhere? (entirely discluding the language and application tutorial)

30th August 2003 12:33 UTC

hm K! if you will get my mail later, you can erase it.
if you still need my html files later, send me a message.
i am back in 3 months, so i hope you are ready with the primer then.

To Atero

About the automatic installation :

It is still not working (it skips all files). But it seems that the name of the sub folder contains a ':' ...

4th September 2003 01:07 UTC

read the thread pir....

4th September 2003 10:16 UTC

I read it. I've already found the zip version, but this file

avspi175.zip

is always referenced at first ...

A newbie coming there will upload it, and, when he will see it doesn't work at all ...

BTW, have you check the hypothetic ':' in the destination folder name ?

5th September 2003 02:40 UTC

yes i have pir. once again, read the thread. and i can't update that attachment, the post is too old.

29th November 2003 22:00 UTC

...sorry I'm a bit late but:
1. I can make russian translation
2. I can also do HTML stuff, including page layout, scripting, even Flash :D
3. I can make a whole website - if you find hosting :)
...and all that for free :p
