An Interesting trick
I figured this out purely by accident and i expect i would have a hard time duplicating it.... It reminds me mostly of like.... different kinds of bugs...
Now your wandering what the heck im talking about, right?
Its like a varying amount of MP's that only move vertically and horizontally and usually when they hit an object they split into two.
and little stationary things....
your gonna have to download it.
I'd like to see someone use it in an actual preset.
The cool part is that its totally different every time you see it.

Is it crap or is it interesting? YOU be the judge!

BTW because of its nature and my laziness you need to wait about 32 beats before it starts.:p

Whoa! That's messed up! Hmm. Kind of looks like Atero's "Brian's Brain" preset.

It's good. Very interesting IMO.

...wow. that's got to be the coolest automata i've ever seen, man...any idea what the exactly the rules are?

15th July 2003 07:32 UTC

wow!! i tried enabling the fx list with the mp permanently and it looked like an awesome game!!
It shoots lines and they bounce of the screen and become a small dot when they collide!!

[edit] that only happens in a small window[/edit]

awsome as in 70s/80s awesome...this is pretty neat, although it would be nice if you could clean it up a bit (get rid of the stationary objects and explain the rules exactly and make it more visually appealing.

yeah... now what do you mean by "exact rules"
If you guys mean what determines how everything moves and reacts then I only know as much as you can learn from watching it.
Although the main part (apparently) is the 2nd convolution filter.
Another big part is that Output: Adjustable blend in the 2nd FX list.
You can greatly change what happens just by moving the slider just a few pixels (usually less).
As for the stationary objects, Im gonna need to mess around a while longer to find out how to mimize those.

If anyone can figure out a way to make some of the objects fade over time so it doesn't always take over the screen will be rewarded with my thanks and their choice of a chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookie.

mmmm.... cookie....

m2k...read up on automatas and stop talking out of your ass. "removing stationary objects" would destroy the effect entirely.

16th July 2003 07:19 UTC

actually some colours would help.....will they?

16th July 2003 09:17 UTC

no. look at how they fucked up my brian's brain :weird:

16th July 2003 10:50 UTC

yeah, you're right.

17th July 2003 06:19 UTC

of course i'm right, bitch. now get me my beer.

17th July 2003 12:38 UTC
