AVS in WA 2.91 really slow
Why is it when i run AVS in WA 2.91 in normal mode(not fullscreen) its fine and runs really smoothly. I have about 19.2-19.4 fps. When i switch to fullscreen mode i have only 6.2-6.3 fps. Im using 1024x768@32BPP, fast software BPP conversion, pixle doubling, wait for retrace and display frame rate couter. THe vertical screen hegiht to render is 100% if that has anythignto do with it. Someone please help me. AVS is awesome and i like to use it full screen but its way to slow and choppy. I recently switched to WA 2.91 from WA3 and in WA3 AVS worked fine in both normal and fullscreen. thanks for any help.

1024x768@32BPP that'ts you problem. WA3 AVS has pixel doubling turned on by default. WA2 doesn't. Pixel doubling essentially halves the resolution.

The answer is that AVS just is really slow! There is no way to magically boost it up. If you want fps, try some other plugin. But otherwise tone down the resolution.
I have a 1,73ghz amd athlon XP and i usually use 320x240 if i use fullscreen mode, 400x300 works fast enough sometimes, but nowadays avs presets are pretty complex to handle such "high" resolutions.
So make your window smaller and use smaller fullscreen resolutions. Always use 32bit color mode, because it works faster for avs.

Unless you're watching something really fast and requires frame-by-frame accuracy to watch, which is why that's there in the first place (afaik)
