Do whatever you think suits your character best.
If you need help on animated avatars, i'm sure i or Tug can give you a Hand.

Thanks for sharing hungry.
I still don't understand why this is in the AVS wishlist - it's not asking for anything to be added to AVS, which is the purpose of this forum. Anyways, rocky, if you want an AVSatar then just make one of your own that you like. Try to make one that transitions from the end back to the beginning smoothly so it doesn't jump.

First you'll need to get an gif animator if you want to create your own one. I propose you to download a recent version of Ulead Photoimpact (7 or 8) it comes with a powerfull gif animator.
Then you can work out pictures and blend them or do movements and stuff.
If you want to do a AVS Avatar, use a Video Capture Plugin. Try to save the stream as gif animation, if not possible you'll have to convert it later on. Then load it into a gif animator to do some final adjustments (size & framreate) to make the filesize small enough to fit wa.com's specifications.
This should get you a good start, just ask if you need detailed help :D

here are a few tips:
assuming you dont have any GIF animation software and dont want to pay for it, search Ulead GIF animator at google.com
read the help file so that you can get around and be familiar with the working of the software.
then make a cool animation, or make an avs preset, capture it to an .avi file and import it in Ulead GIF animator.
that's how i made my avatar :)
ulead is a 15 day trial program, so make sure you make it within that time. or download any ther free software. i suggested ulead because it is way cool ;)

To create non-animated avatars I use Photoshop. I jsut find an image I like and resize it. For annimated ones I use ImageReady.

Quite good for the start.
I made mine using specific Text and Lightforming animations of Ulead Photimpact. I saved those to 3 or 4 seperate gifs and rearranged, blended and merged it with Gif Animator.
Just work a bit with the prog, inspiration will just come as you realize how to use diffrent stuff ;)

How about mine? Mountain Dew Code RED Rules!!!
*sigh*
I should sue them and become rich because I thought of this name before the Code Red Mountain Dew (God its a freakin long name) came out.
*sigh*
I had to cut part of my D off because of the 50 x 50 restrictions. I didnt want to squash it either. Looks ugly.

your sig is way too big. I advise you make your own avatar instead of scaling/cropping existing images

I like your avatar Code red but i think m^2k is right you should try and make your own avatar.

Why does it matter if you made your own avatar? Use whatever avatar you want to - most likely, the perfect avatar for you won't be already made so you will have to make your own if you want it, but if you like what you have then just keep it.

The only reason that is a big deal is because a company is trying to use the icon - an individual will not get in trouble for displaying a company's icons.
