Shreyas - GMVIOP

I think something is wrong with the link - it isn't working. It looks like the end of the url is cut off.

18th May 2003 18:21 UTC

ok, the link worked fine here, anyways here goes:

Well, very nice pack, you gained more XP on the aestethics side :) Personal favourites : Soft cusion,The barrel(looks better without wrap) and Particles for fun.
Rating : 4,7/5
PS.Sorry,i`d write a review but it would take too much and im sooo fucking busy these days in real life.Maybe i`ll have some more free time tomorrow.

18th May 2003 19:31 UTC

Intro - I think you forgot the picture for the picture render - either that or it's not where it's supposed to be or somethin'. Good fireworks, though. Just try to keep them from being constant circles if you can - try to make the particles move at different speeds.
Bouncy Spiro - Interesting, although it could use a better background - maybe a custom starfield instead of that.
Empty Lift Hole - Hate the colors, but it's a good technical preset. Not the most exciting since the spheres don't do much.
Heavenly Buildings - Okay, but try to move the camera around a little more - it's too much of the same view angles.
Need For Responsiveness - Good responsiveness, but the texture is crap in my opinion.
From The Peephole - A little too foggy and the edges of the "peephole" are very jagged, but it's a nice preset otherwise.
Blood On The Dance Floor - Good preset, but I don't like the shaking in it - just have the fog-like stuff flow instead of shaking.
Smooth And Flowing - The flashing bump is kinda annoying and the preset isn't too exciting. Not the best in the pack although I do like your APE.
Junction To Eternity - Similar in style to the peephole preset, but this one is ten times better - love the swirling in it. One of my favorites in the pack even though the tiled stuff in the background part aren't that great.
Future VIS - Don't like the movements, but the MP's are nice - especially there weird shape.
Superspiro - I didn't really like EL-VIS's superspiro thing, but this one's is nice. Don't know exactly why I like it, but I think it's mostly because this one moves and is smaller.
Rotation Delay DM - Love this preset - the flowing is awesome. Don't like the BG that much, but it's ok.
Trapped In A Cube - I'm sure this would be better if the texer pictures were included, but I can barely see the dots and that probably really takes away from the preset.
Fire On Ice - Not my favorite, but I don't really like any of the fire presets made so far in AVS.
FC - Recall The Old Memories - Really like the colors and the flowing is alright.
Confused Matrix - Nice look, but it would be better if the camera could move through the "walls" instead of being stuck in the one box.
Confused Matrix 2 - Like the other one more - this one is harder to see what it is.
Haunted Flow - Could be better, and I don't have 5 minutes right now to stare at it.
Particles For Fun - Really confusing looking, but I like the background.
Another Floe Remix - Don't like. Very boring.
Sphere - Fail to see the sphere, but it's a cool preset nonetheless.
Music Printshop Pro - Nice, but the inside a cube preset has been done a bit too much for me to really like this.
The Barrel - Cool looking barrel and I like the movement of the screen, and the colors are ok. Don't like the vibrating squares though.
Slimy Worms - Is something missing from this? It's only a background(although the background is nice).
Exactly Opposite - Very empty without the texer.
Solid Dynamic Contours - Edges are too sharp, but I guess they have to be to look like contours. Maybe add some sort of color mask on top of it to spice it up some.
Starry Night On Beach - The water looks really weird and the moon has a line missing from it. Others of this kind have been made that I like more.
Softy Soft Cushion - Your comment needs editing - it says that this is Empty Lift Hole. Don't like the weird SSC's, but it's ok.
Overall:4.0. There are some great presets in here, but then some of them could be taken out. Sorry if my presets became less helpful, but after reviewing about half of them and then seeing how many there were I just rushed through the rest. You're really starting to make some very good stuff Shreyas. Can't wait for more.

18th May 2003 22:11 UTC

There are some very nice presets in there. I would give you a big review but that is a lot of presets.

19th May 2003 04:52 UTC

ok, so the problem is the bitmaps arent installed properly, i will ipdate the installer.

edit:fixed the installer, same link

19th May 2003 09:46 UTC

that's a vary decent pack. I liked most of them. Exactly Opposite just looked white to me, and Slimy Worms looks like jsut a nice gradient. Keep up the good work.

19th May 2003 12:16 UTC

It isn't white on mine - it's a pulsing blob of color.

19th May 2003 14:39 UTC

I dunno. I get a blob of white.Same with Solid Dynamic Contours. Still, the rest looked pretty nice.

20th May 2003 10:14 UTC

i think either you have a very fast cpu and are getting super high fps or you are using a very very small window :)

edit: talking about reviewing speed, my pack was published only after 1 day after i submitted it to winamp!

here's the link:

22nd May 2003 12:34 UTC

WwWwWwWwWow.:)

Good Pack. Now stop it, you're making me jealous.:D

22nd May 2003 14:01 UTC

Great pack, i really don't have time to sit around and write a review so just you're getting much better very fast, great job, hope to see more soon.

24th May 2003 09:36 UTC

I dont think I will be able to make a pack this year. Dont have any plans.

25th May 2003 08:29 UTC

Nice work shreyas!

26th May 2003 13:42 UTC

Nice pack, some good visuals in here, but the APE thing you overblowed a little... i mean d=0 APE? Give me a break... Does that really need to be "optimized" that you need to write a separate APE for it? Jeez... Besides you have your Dynamic Clear Screen APE, what do you need the d=0 for? :weird:

Like i said, the presets are ok, but you don't need to write an APE for every single avs effect... Or are you next going to make r=r+t ape? x=x+xt;y=y+yt APE's? How about d=d*zoom APE?

26th May 2003 16:30 UTC

for d=d*zoom, we already have blitter feedback and r=r+t, we have roto blitter :p I made that APE in about 10 mins when an argument popped out somewhere in the forums, and then I thought I might as well distribute it. it is about 2 fps faster :)

27th May 2003 05:55 UTC

nice presets shreyas:up:

p.s. (i am a good friend of ishan and live near his house, he introduced me to the forums:))

27th May 2003 07:32 UTC

Yup, i tested it too, it is about 2 fps faster :p But im just thinking about all the newbies that are going to start using it... the horror... and when they even forget to attach the APE's to their packs... well you know what i mean :blah: :D

27th May 2003 09:02 UTC

i'm not going to bother you all with my packs untill i get a good knowledge of AVS.;)

27th May 2003 09:44 UTC

Hey, I like your avatar! I too am a HP fan, cant wait for 21st June, already ordered my copy :)

27th May 2003 09:49 UTC

yeah i'm a HP fan too,infact i made his avatar for him:D .
p.s. his real name is ankit

[edit] There is no copyright on that pic is there??
[/edit]

28th May 2003 17:26 UTC

i'm also HP fan and Ishan helped me for making of my avatar :)

28th May 2003 23:43 UTC

*smooch*

;) :p :D

29th May 2003 11:03 UTC

I liked LOTR(I have saw only the first part) but it is'nt much famous here besides i keep in touch of HP because i play its games and i have its souveniers(i hope i spelled that right:D) but we dont get LOTR souveniers here.

29th May 2003 11:12 UTC

I'm not a fan of anything, i prefer to like something. The Harry Potter books were pretty good but i hated the films the commercialising the games toys etc etc, so i am not a "fan". Lord of the Rings ditto.

So anyway AVS...

29th May 2003 11:19 UTC

I love this little pack you put together. You don't have any presets that look the same like others submit at times. All of them seemed to be well done and compleated. Good Job

Just out of curiosity, how long did they take to make?

29th May 2003 15:49 UTC

I dont think it took much time cause i remember only about a month ago the monochrome pack was released but maybe i'm wrong ( cant remember correctly:igor: )

30th May 2003 10:01 UTC

Well, I think it took three and a half months, I had started making it as I was making monochrome.

30th May 2003 10:07 UTC

and I stared Monochrome even beofre I completed my first pack :D

31st May 2003 16:49 UTC

it is a nice pack :d

31st May 2003 17:41 UTC

I was just wondering what software do you use to animate your "Icon" under neighth your user name?

31st May 2003 17:54 UTC

GIF animators, AVS grabber will export AVS to an AVI which can be coverted to GIFs

1st June 2003 06:54 UTC

Actually i used ulead gif animator for making mine, but your looks cool anyway i think there's no need of making an animated one.

the "icon underneigth your user name " is called an avatar:D

1st June 2003 22:21 UTC

Thanks for the help, Ishan.

2nd June 2003 00:43 UTC

Do you like my new avatar? ( I like the animated ones, Ishan)

2nd June 2003 09:21 UTC

Your avatar is kinda....jumpy, i suggest you take three frames(one starting PS2 then have sweep clock animation for 10 frames to go to the "X" sign then again the same sweep clock animation to return to the PS2) that would make it better:) or you can give me the pics so i can help you with it.

2nd June 2003 09:52 UTC

Doing this kinda effects with Ulead is kinda easy and childish. When i first started to make my avatar, it was just headbreaking.

2nd June 2003 19:15 UTC

Yea I would like some help with my Avatar and I'm not used to Ulead. So here are the photos, Shreyas.

2nd June 2003 21:18 UTC

The X box and Ps2
I forgot to tell that they are both 40x40. Oh, and thanks for the help.

2nd June 2003 23:29 UTC

Those who spend their time on avatars, have nothing to contribute but their avatar.

Hey I just figured out what you mean, but if you still want to make an avatar then that’s fine with me.

3rd June 2003 08:05 UTC

Your avatar looks good now (just that it stops for too much time in my view)

3rd June 2003 17:27 UTC

Well, I had the PS2 and X Box logo stop for 5 seconds so people don't know if it is going to change or not. The reason it still looks jumpy is because the 2 photos have black backgrounds. So, you can't tell were it changes at times. If you focus on the center then you can tell it isn't missing any frames.

4th June 2003 09:49 UTC

Can we move back on topic please? Altho the topic is over...:D

4th June 2003 10:12 UTC

sorry, it was me who started the avatar stuff on this thread(i guess??)

4th June 2003 10:40 UTC

Oh please, I'm sure we can stretch it out more! The thread is now ours wa ha ha ha!

4th June 2003 16:48 UTC

wa ha ha ha????:igor:
is that how you laugh??

4th June 2003 20:32 UTC

Yea its an evil laugh. The "Wa" is what makes it evil. ( Just....... smile and nod.)
