An intersting effect
I was tinkering around trying to recreate the automaton or automa (whatever it is) that i believe unconed (maybe not?) was trying to make. After a while i gave up and got this effect.

That really really hurts my eyes. Don't think that it's an automata either.

Sorry, but it looks just like any other newbie preset. Flashy, boring, and not cool at all. I don't think that's an automata either, besides it was Atero who tried and has already made a couple of automatas.

I agree with the above posts and with the fact that Bush looks like a chimp.Preset : flashy, makes me feel claustrofobic, very newbish.Bush : no comment.

argh...hurts the eyes, mainly because of the invert and doesnt look good either

i managed to get rid of that godawful flashing, but i don't see much in this...

I got a similar effect a long time ago in my early two mplanes preset. Here was the effect i got. It's basically some ugly edges all squashed up.

1) It's not supposed to look good
2) It's not supposed to be an automata

This was just a preset that showed what I got with my tinkering around with the convulsion filter. But i guess i should have fixed the blinking first.

<edit> Sorry Atero, for mistaking you for someone else</edit>

Hmm, I notice a contradiction there.

what is an automator?

Im not to sure either but you can read up on it here.

an automaton is any image that continually (and with relative predictability) morphs given a certain set of rules. conway's game of life is the most famous instance of a 2-d universal automata, another type of automaton is the ant automaton. some avs setups can be considered automata, given the changes to a pixel depend on the pixels around it and not where it is on the screen.
