An un-holy alliance if I ever did see one, two northern monkeys, a shandy drinker and one of Jim Hensons finest all in the room at once :)

this is scary...we are used to having only one mod on this forum who was never here.

Yeah, but that was mostly in light of a PM I sent to Bilbo about us getting a new mod. I saw many mods in here checking out the grounds to see what they were going to do. Unfortunately, I didn't get modded.:hang:

yeah, but 3000+ posts in only 3 months is certainly no mean achievement.
wow!
I mean, WOW!!! :D

Thanks. It is kinda pitiful, but given my circumstances, not too bad.

Well i hope we all enjoyed our "15 minutes" of fame, because from now on the AVS forums will be looked down as a "trouble maker" forum :hang:
I don't know about you, but i kinda liked that we were here all by ourselfs without any extra attention...

Me too, but as Atero is off for a while there won't be much flaming around here if any - and the AVS Forums will become "The forgotten corner of visual artists" again.
At least i hope so.

I dont know, I think Atero was just fooling about the flaming thing, dont know if he was ever REALLY angry ;)
Tuggummi
3rd April 2003 06:20 UTC
shreays, you would be suprised how angry i am about this whole incident, but i don't want to flame anybody for that.
The point is that: even though most of you think internet is something you use for fun, we still are real people behind the monitor writing these replies to real people. Any normal person will get angry if they are flamed at or the see something that makes them mad (i.e. this whole mod war didn't make me happy if that is what you think)
I atleast feel crap about the fact that something a few individuals did is going to affect the way people feel about these forums & avs in general. :hang:

i still don't get any of this.

So we`re known as the bad guys from now on right ? :D
Oh and could the new mods introduce themselves or something ?

Atero has gone for a while. Learn to live with it or go yourself. Atero is not the sole reason you make AVS presets or participate in the forum. Atero's banning was justified. Deal with it.

Having no Atero her fore some time doesnt mean we'll skip avs'ing or will YOU?You got it all wrong. Im not quitting, because atero got banned. What do you think of me for crying out loud...

You just love it because your presets were featured :p
It's true though, people fighting and bitching over nothing. The reputation for here must be deteriorating fast.

Raz, yeah true, i even bought the real mag even though it costs 15 euros! :igor:
Oh and before someone even starts, yes i was too on the vote list and yes i said i could be mod, but i didn't ask for it in the first place. But when people started saying that "maybe tuggummi" i thought, what the heck, why not?

Well, we should forget about this whole modbeeing-quarry and get best friends with our new ones - if we educate them well they might get contributive members soon.
And as far as the reputation stuff goes, i think we shoud weight this up with beeing informativ and constructive - everyone is the first to start here!

Gonzotek seems willing to become an active member here, learning AVS and whatnot...but Rocker hasn't set foot here yet.
Gonzotek

I haven't done a formal intro because it didn't really seem like a good idea when there was a storm raging around here. But umm, hi, I'm Gonzotek and I like Winamp. I've been on the Winamp for 5 years now, probably, but the last two have seen me at my most Winamped. You could call me a Winampaholic, but I like to think of myself as imbibed with Winamp.
------------
Seriously, I've played and developed with many Nullsoft products
(NSIS, Shoutcast, Winamp2 and 3, NSV, among other flirtations). I've learned a number of languages along the way, and I'm currently learning C++ and AVSing, while working on improving my PHP skills.
Tuggummi, I hear you. Loud and clear. I've got a personal complex right now about how the members of the forum percieve me. But I want to think that I'll be able to earn everyone's trust and respect. And I think that the AVS community as a whole has a lot more positive going for it right now than negative. I don't think this has tarnished it, at least not in any real serious way.
As for rocker, he hasn't been on the boards, so far as I can tell. Maybe he's got some real life issue..dunno. I'll drop an email his way, but if he's offline..<shrug>.

Tugga's I hear what your saying - but the truth is there was no-one listening or judging any reputation in the first place becuase anyone new who enters this forum is warded away with jeering 'annoobiation'.
AVS will get developed as its popularity returns - that can't happen when everyone gets a nice smack across the mouth as soon as they walk through the door. Gonzo seems enthusiastic about the forum and the 'badboy' reputation is only ephemmeral.
Put it this way - you've got a nullsoft developer active in our forums and using avs. What could be better.

Welcome to the AVS forums, i hope you enjoy your stay here, i would advise learning the inner workings and making some presets, some people will resent you if you don't participate in with what these forums are about.
I see where you're coming from there though, Girlfriend wants me to "spend time" ;) with her, or type out some messages, girlfriend, messages, girlfriend, messages *sound of computer going out the window* ;)

Was this the plan all along... get n00bs into the forums by disguising them as mods??
:p
Magic.X
7th April 2003 07:07 UTC
The reason is that we learn to thread n00bs well because we can't flame those n00bs because thy are our mods...
