devART's 3rd Birthday
I think we should start a devART's 3rd Birthday tribute pack...or am I just crazy....

(This would make up for how awful the 2nd birthday tribute was)

13th February 2003 01:07 UTC

Agreed =P

/me prepares to start an idea of a preset he had since da's 2nd birthday

13th February 2003 01:09 UTC

Count Dragon in,

This will rock.

13th February 2003 01:19 UTC

sure, i'm game.

13th February 2003 01:57 UTC

\/\/ooo-o7.

13th February 2003 03:22 UTC

i'll see what can i do

13th February 2003 03:26 UTC

*i can do*

PHUCK

sorry atero =|

13th February 2003 04:09 UTC

s'called the edit button

13th February 2003 04:10 UTC

Are these presets exclusively for this pack or can we put them in our upcoming packs too?

13th February 2003 07:28 UTC

This really comes up in a bad time... When was devarts birthday again? I already have turned down Ches Dragon's collab pack, but damn... i wouldn't want to miss this since i love devart and i spend most of my time there. Even more time than in the forums (sorry fellas, but you're not just that attractive ;))

So devarts birhtday?
Deadline?

Maybe i could come up with something if there is plenty of time...

13th February 2003 09:00 UTC

By the way here's the DeviantART logo traced as a superscope.

u=i*.544;
f=below(u,.05);px=if(f,-.23,px);py=if(f,u*21-.61,py);
f=band(above(u,.05),below(u,.069));px=if(f,-.23-(u-.05)*21,px);py=if(f,.45,py);
f=band(above(u,.06899),below(u,.17));s=(u-.069)*31.4;px=if(f,-.61*cos(s),px); py=if(f,.45-pow(abs(sin(s)),.9)*.67,py);
f=band(above(u,.1699),below(u,.188));px=if(f,.61-(u-.17)*21,px);py=if(f,.45,py);
f=band(above(u,.18799),below(u,.209));px=if(f,.265,px);py=if(f,.45-(u-.188)*21,py);
f=band(above(u,.20899),below(u,.219));px=if(f,.265-(u-.209)*21,px); py=if(f,.0-(u-.209)*5,py);
f=band(above(u,.21899),below(u,.254));px=if(f,.065,px);py=if(f,.15+(u-.229)*21,py);
f=band(above(u,.25399),below(u,.294));px=if(f,.065+(u-.254)*21,px);py=if(f,.67,py);
f=band(above(u,.29399),below(u,.430));s=(u-.294)*23;px=if(f,.89*cos(s),px); py=if(f,.67-pow(abs(sin(s)),.9)*1.05,py);
f=band(above(u,.42999),below(u,.47));px=if(f,-.89+(u-.430)*21,px);py=if(f,.67,py);
f=band(above(u,.4699),below(u,.535));px=if(f,-.05,px);py=if(f,.67-(u-.47)*21,py);
f=band(above(u,.53499),below(u,.546));px=if(f,-.05-(u-.535)*20.1,px); py=if(f,-.695+(u-.535)*9,py);
py=py*.8-.1;
alpha=bnot(bor(band(above(u,.107),below(u,.117)),band(above(u,.3646),below(u,.3737))));

The resulting points are put into (px,py) in AVS coordinates. 'Alpha' is zero where the lines should be black, and 1 otherwise. Because of this, the scope should be drawn with additive or maximum blending mode.
Depending on the amount of points you use to draw it, you might need to tweak the constants in the alpha line so that the scope's lines stop right at the D.

If you're running low on variables: u and f are temporary variables and can be replaced by e.g. red,green,blue... If you don't need i elsewhere, you can even replace u by i (provided you keep the first rescaling line i=i*.544)

I'm going to make an intro preset with this, because I don't have time to make a full on DevArt tribute... if no-one minds, this could be the pack's intro preset.

13th February 2003 10:12 UTC

I guess im just too newby to be count in?

13th February 2003 10:18 UTC

Jack: just make a cool preset... I'm sure you'll come up with something neat if you want to :)

Btw here is my suggestion for the Intro. The scope is a 3D version of the one above, with connecting lines plus an optimized version of the beam effect from Whacko AVS III. Looks pretty rad :).

I also added a credits scroller which will include everyone's name, and optionally some extra blabber.

The other preset is my submission for the tribute pack. I don't have much time to make a special preset just for the pack, so I took the hairy blobscope which I posted a while ago to demonstrate how to calculate normals. It's still pretty neat, and well Atero always said I should publish it as a decent preset :).

Once this is published on DevART, everyone should immediately +fav it, so it will get noticed, get featured and give AVS a much needed PR boost :).

13th February 2003 10:26 UTC

hmm...

Just wondering how many of you guys even are deviantart.com members and submit on the site? Im not saying it should be a criterion to participate on the pack, but im just wondering why are you willing to join into a tribute for site you don't even use? :weird:

13th February 2003 10:39 UTC

I use it but im just not member...

13th February 2003 11:00 UTC

heh, im not judging anyone, im just curious that's all :p

13th February 2003 12:01 UTC

Mmm I forgot how totally cool volumetric effects are :). Check out this highquality volumetric-only version of the DA logo...mmmmmmmmmm..... when the lightpoint moves it's totally awesome how the beams cross the camera.

13th February 2003 12:32 UTC

to keep them exclusive, you must not post them here :)

maybe horse-fly releases a new version of his fella preset for the pack?

13th February 2003 12:38 UTC

UnConeD that is amazing. I was going to do about the same thing(without the volumetric lighting), but it looks like you beat me to it. The DA logo doesn't move very fast, so you may want to speed it up a slight bit.

13th February 2003 14:15 UTC

yathosho: Well since most people here will be working on the presets, why not post them too? It's supposed to be a collaborative effort anyway, and that way we can advise eachother on how to improve presets...

13th February 2003 17:53 UTC

no problem with that, but i read the word 'exclusiveness' before :)

13th February 2003 19:37 UTC

It's not like they *have* to be exclusive. If you want to release one in one of your packs, go ahead...just not before the tribute pack.
BTW, I do think it should just be people who use AND post on devART...

Very cool intro, UnConeD. It's extremely slow, tho...I think that scope can just be somewhere from n=600-900 meself :) And there's the part where sometimes it rotates just a little to far, making the beam effect look really wierd....

13th February 2003 19:47 UTC

:hang::cry::hang::cry:...thats not good...:cry:

13th February 2003 22:26 UTC

The beam-only version wasn't intended to be usable... I'd keep the low-res version with the 3Dscoped DA logo.

14th February 2003 00:14 UTC

i figured that ;)
btw, unconed, could you arrange a time to be on mIRC? i have some questions that can't be addressed through e-mail :)

14th February 2003 08:29 UTC

There are 174 days left until the birthday...I think there is enough time to create 10 tribute packs :) Btw if Atero`s idea will become reality someone should put a deadline.

14th February 2003 11:25 UTC

I'd really like to give something to this pack if the deadline isn't in near future (?) Without DA I would have quit a long time ago..

14th February 2003 14:02 UTC

Count me in. I'll try to do some exclusive presets.

14th February 2003 14:42 UTC

Ummm...im in too ;) 1 or 2 presets i think is enough...Must write DEVIANTART from scopes hihi :)

16th February 2003 22:09 UTC

*bump*

If you've gotten any finished presets, please mail them to me at therealatero@hotmail.com and I promise I won't steal the credit for them :)

17th February 2003 08:12 UTC

/me nudges Jheriko to make a flat-shaded rotating logo.

3rd March 2003 16:54 UTC

I already made two presets, but when is the deadline?

3rd March 2003 17:17 UTC

lets see, only 157 days until da's third birthday... there's a chance that i could have something done by then ;) count me as a maby :)

3rd March 2003 19:09 UTC

so be it.... expect it whenever... i still have p8 and multi filter to finish. along with a 3d game engine that i have been working on for the past month or so, plus my ogl winamp visualisation plus my geforce fx demo... and yes i *DO* have a big fat juicy GeForce FX 5800.. how much did I pay for it? Here's a hint - the correct answer will always be less than or equal to the absolute value of your guess.

damn why do i always take on way to much shit in my spare time. sorry guys but avs has taken a bit of a backseat for me lately.

(Read this shash as... i will do it, just don't expect it super fast)

3rd March 2003 20:58 UTC

I don't expect anything very fast. DevArt's birthday isn't for a long time.

3rd March 2003 21:32 UTC

Geforce FX sucks jheriko...A radeon 9700 pro kicks its ass and doesnt make that much noise.Maybe the new drivers will show the real strength of the video card.Oh and my geforce 2 pro rules! :)

3rd March 2003 21:47 UTC

Umm, the GeForce FX 5800 is much nicer than the Radeon 9700 Pro.

3rd March 2003 22:28 UTC

Check out these... I just want to have your opinion before I send them to Atero.

3rd March 2003 22:34 UTC

Spectral Milkshake - It's alright, but it's a bit repetitive and the screen nearly goes completely white a couple of times.
Electric - Nice plasma effect, but I don't really like the horizontal lines.

3rd March 2003 23:53 UTC

What about this one? And in Electric, to get circles instead of horizontal lines, go to the movement inside the 2nd Effect List and disable the "Rect. coords" box. If you don't like that either, just disable the 2nd Effect List. You get rid of the lines and get some FPS :)

4th March 2003 00:07 UTC

That's definitely better.

The ATI Radeon 9700 pro only outperforms the GeForce FX 5800 when 4xFSAA is enabled, otherwise the GeForce FX 5800 is the faster card. Also the GeForce FX can manipulate 128-bit colors and is much faster overall when the hardware accelerated functions are used.

4th March 2003 00:57 UTC

but it does sound like a vacuum :)

4th March 2003 03:02 UTC

Who cares?!? That's what 50lb. server cases are for. Block out that sound.

4th March 2003 03:34 UTC

zamuz: i like them, and they're both going in...because i only have 3 others so far, including the intro. GET TO WORK PEOPLE!!!1!!1!11!!1

4th March 2003 03:39 UTC

I'll get to work as soon as you learn to hit the shift key when making exclamation marks.:p !!!!

You're acting like when on a tight deadline. We have a long time til it's devart's 3rd birthday.

4th March 2003 08:27 UTC

How did anubis get to be forum king!??!?!?

4th March 2003 08:35 UTC

Im working on a jark preset for bitmapped II, but i might do one for this pack too (different of course, or whatever you like). Just to ask are you ok if i use bitmaps? I know it brings the size way up... so i thought i ask first. Oh and Picture II too...

4th March 2003 15:17 UTC

One of my presets uses a picture and the picture II ape. Does that matter?

4th March 2003 15:37 UTC

Posting more that 2000 times. :)

(edit since Dec2002  some ppl have too much time. :) )

4th March 2003 21:40 UTC

Actually, I've had too much time since my friends went off to college in August, but I didn't get on the Winamp Forums until late December.

6th March 2003 00:24 UTC

How about this? I think it looks neat, but as always your opinions are welcome. And of course I need UnConeD's approval, since this is a remix from a preset he posted on other thread (in the Dream AVS one).

6th March 2003 00:43 UTC

It's alright. Don't really like the blue up at the top though. And it has some edge warping at the top and bottom.

6th March 2003 05:25 UTC

Tug- are you creating a bmp pack? Sounds interesting. Want some presets?

6th March 2003 05:57 UTC

Tug- are you creating a bmp pack? Sounds interesting. Want some presets?
Uhm, what? You want to remix or contribute your own? i don't understand, but the answer is still no. I don't need anyones help :p
It's my own pack not a group thing

6th March 2003 09:28 UTC

Here is one i did a week or so ago...Flaming deviantart :) Btw atero check all the effects cause they kick ass :)(read the comment)

6th March 2003 12:36 UTC

Two presets from me. The zip also includes the required "render picutre II"-ape and a bitmap. Comments are appreciated.

6th March 2003 12:43 UTC

Skupers, dreaming about green is awesome :D Really a great tribute to devart! The untitled one ain't bad, but runs slow.

Phaze, Heh, that's nice :) But where did you get that AVI? Just wondering about copyrights... you might wanna ask permission first.

6th March 2003 12:56 UTC

maybe i should write deviantart in 3d, i allready did this with my name, so i got A.
i think that is pretty hard job and needs some (ok ok a lot of) time
[edit]
i mean each word with one scope
[/edit]

6th March 2003 19:54 UTC

And i did it...
And now i understand that it wasnt so good idea:

1. its booring
2. its slow
3. im not good enough to make it move cool (cant u see i need help)
4. im not good enough to make it do something cool
5. it looks uncool (:weird: :P)
6. its unreadable (well its readable but... well yea... ull see..)

and i was too lazy to make the D and R petter
i did this thing in one day and now i am not planning to make the code faster today

anyways, what do you think of it?
plz, give me some ideas what to do with it...
(NB! its not final version jet)

6th March 2003 20:32 UTC

wow, some nice scope work there. Its readable believe me just slow it down a bit and giveit some deviantart-like effects. Nice

6th March 2003 20:45 UTC

Its in the Winamp3 AVS directory.I have no idea where i got it...I was browsing and saw it and since its small and pretty nice i thought i could use it :) If anyone knows who it is pls tell me and i`ll include it in the comment area.

6th March 2003 20:46 UTC

Moves a bit too fast on my computer to be readable. I would also have it start out looking at the front of it, not the side. Like raz said, it needs some effects, which should be enough to slow it down so that it is readable.

6th March 2003 20:57 UTC

...but to make it start looking front of it i need to recode all of it... and even the A (ouch!!)
I'll see what will i do with the effects...
I'll brobably make the ART bigger and correct the D and R...

6th March 2003 21:00 UTC

You won't need to recode all of it. Just change out the x, y, and z variables. Actually, you only need to switch the x and z variables. Shouldn't be too difficult.

6th March 2003 21:34 UTC

Pretty nice jack and s_kupers :) The 3d DA really needs some more effects and the untitled one is very cool.Nice work :)

/edit Geforce FX still sucks jheriko hehe.Radeon more cheaper and it doesnt make that damn noise(i`ve heard a FX at a computer store...damn it IS LOUD).Imagine this situation : you are masturbating and you dont hear someone coming because of the geforce and the persons catches you.Ugly eh ? All because of the damn cooling system. edit\

6th March 2003 21:54 UTC

thanks Anubis.
Phaze, bit offtopic, isnt it?
[offtopic]The ASUS is best and try to Beat the RD-RAM :p[/offtopic]

6th March 2003 23:09 UTC

phaze: the AVI is from Danjoe's pIXEL.
jack: nice scopes, but can you stop them from bouncing so much, and make them do a bit more?
skupers: dreaming of that green is great - not too sure about untitleda.

and i'd also like to say that these presets don't have to be restrained to things having to do with DA, but it'd be nice if they wer - color schemes count too :)
so far it's:

unconed's intro
cellular groovomata (needs some work imho, but if it doesn't it's still going :) )
dreaming of that green
spectral milkshake
electric
yella fella (my project, still in teh works, not posted)

7th March 2003 09:28 UTC

Thanks Atero.I still dont know how it got on my computer since i dont have any of danjoe`s packs. Jack yeah it was a bit offtopic but i just had to say it :) Atero what about my flaming DA ? The flames look pretty great.

7th March 2003 13:38 UTC

i hope i have enought time to make my preset worthy to this pack :D
hers new version, is this better?
(yea yea yea, ill add some effects)

7th March 2003 13:42 UTC

oops, wrong putton
(i hate this  )

7th March 2003 18:35 UTC

- Fix aspect ratio (why doesn't anyone do this, it makes 3D scopes look like crap  )

- Why do the arcs have a zigzag filling but straight lines don't? Inconsistency is generally a bad thing. Also, the bottom part of the D's arc and the upper part of the R's arc don't meet the end correctly.

- The beginning/end of the arcs is missing the connection between the front- and backprofile of the letters

Anyway you still need to make a preset out of this :).

7th March 2003 19:14 UTC

-you mean
x=x3/(z3/2+1+dst);
y=y3/(z3/2+1+dst);
must be
x=x3/(z3+2+dst); (or something like this)
y=y3/(z3+2+dst);

-at first i wanted to make the no_zigzag but the zigzag was easier, but ill make the zigzag to straight lines and i sayd before and ill say it again: ill make the D and R better

-what da?

thanks for help
Ill do it! :D

7th March 2003 19:31 UTC

Fixing the aspect ratio means that you make your scope look right even if you look at it in a rectangular window. Otherwise your scopes will look squished, circles will be ellipses and rotation will look weird.

You need to multiply x by h/w or y by w/h. Or you could use min(h/w, 1) and min(w/h, 1) and multiply both x and y, or use max.

Depends on how you want to fix it (always stretch x, always stretch y, stretch smallest, squish largest).

Check attachment for an explanation about the other thing :).

7th March 2003 19:53 UTC

yea, those D and R, what im making better...
this h/w thing was pretty stupid (bad english), i look what i can do.

10th March 2003 14:59 UTC

I have "little" problems with the R, all other letters are good (not to say perfect)...
I have remade the R like 3 times and this is the last, and the best version, but it is still WRONG and i dont know whats WRONG with it...
And now im asking for help, from you all, i just cant figure it out myself, there are some kind of point misscalculations or something like this, i could make it with 3 ssc-s but its now all about princibles...
...allready thanking for help.

[edit]i guess that the asbect ration thing is uncorrect, isnt it?

11th March 2003 10:12 UTC

:) i got one to.

Im finnaly gonna be in a colaboration pack,YaY.
You need the colormap APE.
didn't include it because im sick and tired of DL it every time I DL a preset. I think we all have it anyway:rolleyes: )

11th March 2003 10:20 UTC

fsk, you suprise me! This preset is really original yet really simple. Im loving it!

11th March 2003 11:09 UTC

Glad you like it:)
I like it a lot to. I have been trying to write simple and tight code to improve on my programing skils. This preset includes the tightest mosaic and solid scope code I can write at this time (any input on how to make it even better is grately apreciated). The only part that sucksorZ is that the scope and the (beautiful:)) squares can't be rotated:(.

12th March 2003 03:03 UTC

That is nice - very DA-like colors. Simple and sweet.

12th March 2003 04:35 UTC

maybe i will make a new version of dancing fella

12th March 2003 04:50 UTC

finished my preset... wher do i submit?

12th March 2003 06:37 UTC

e-mail it to me or post it here.

fsk: great preset :)

12th March 2003 23:49 UTC

dance fella dance... exclusive version for devart b-day

13th March 2003 00:42 UTC

That's nice fsk. DOn't like the path that the bump leaves behind though.

13th March 2003 01:43 UTC

That dance fella is funny... Maybe make it move a little more, but, at least for me, it's pretty cool and original.

13th March 2003 03:20 UTC

now i feel like a heel doing my own dancing fella :/

13th March 2003 21:56 UTC

hahahahahah! That dancing dude is sweet :) Very nice horse fly i love it !

15th March 2003 05:54 UTC

Maybe I'm ignorant, but a bunch of these people that are making a tribute aren't DA users . . . So, if you not, join DA soon before they catch you.

15th March 2003 19:48 UTC

yea, do like i did...

17th March 2003 10:46 UTC

Cool fella Horse-Fly, bit that bump is a bit mwah:).
Anubis what bump trail?? I gues you meant H-F?:)

Update.

17th March 2003 21:07 UTC

I got another one :) But this time it's actually a remix from one of my presets from Visions. Hope you like it.

Edit: This post made me a Member! :D

17th March 2003 21:59 UTC

Congrats on the member, but it's nothing major.

Nice aesthetic preset. Very smooth, clean feel to it.

23rd March 2003 08:12 UTC

Here is a preset from me to the pack (many yet to come ;))

I tried to create something spiffy, but not quite sure did i succeed in that... oh well here it is.

28th March 2003 07:02 UTC

Here is another one :)

Uses the same "texture" than the previous one though :weird:

Anyway i think it's nifty :D

28th March 2003 10:35 UTC

Here`s one from me.No,two from me :) I hope they are good :)

5th April 2003 17:10 UTC

Stickied at Michaelthecat's Request.

-gonzo

5th April 2003 17:13 UTC

yaay...Rova wouldn't do this for me

5th April 2003 17:14 UTC

Remind me to take it down after it isn't needed anymore ;), Four stickies is kinda messy.

-=Gonzotek=-

5th April 2003 17:18 UTC

Yeah, I agree.
This one I agree should be stickied, but the steve wittens one I'm not so sure about. Of course I don't think that pack should be released at all - He's not completely gone yet.

5th April 2003 23:20 UTC

Who will handle this pack now, anyway?

5th April 2003 23:48 UTC

Atero still can. It will be a little harder to coordinate, but he could still be in charge. He can look at the forums - just can't post anything - I think.

6th April 2003 17:56 UTC

I thought I read somewhere that if you've been IP banned, you can't access the site...maybe I'm just dumb.

If not, we still can e-mail him the presets.

6th April 2003 18:02 UTC

He can't even read the forums. Its true, the other day I posted a link on #finnish-flash and he started bitching about how much use it was to him.

6th April 2003 18:05 UTC

that sucks...

6th April 2003 19:26 UTC

yeah, but I think he is able to read them now - at least that is what he was saying.

6th April 2003 21:30 UTC

http proxy :D

7th April 2003 02:04 UTC

OK, Phaze...I don't think breaking the rules and reading the forums will help Atero come back.

and there is a MUCH easier way: library/school computer.

7th April 2003 03:42 UTC

Correct me if I am wrong but the birthday is still 3 months away. Maybe you want a sticky for there 4th and 5th birthday too.;):)

8th April 2003 22:43 UTC

yes, but people are already adding to it, and it would be SO much easeir if it was always at the top than towards the bottom or middle.

8th April 2003 23:17 UTC

Well don't start bitching when the noobs m,iss the FAQ more as the forum is full of stickies. I culled a load of sticked in GD a while back and although not popular by some it was the correct thing to do.
Stickies are for important stuff/short term stuff IMHO.

Still don't think these 2 'tribute' threads are really needed. Maybe it is also beacuse I hate DA site is there a slower site on the Internet.

BTW it is bad form to ask one mod and then ask another. It is like a 5 year old asking his dad for a special treat and when he says no he goes running to his mum.

14th April 2003 21:39 UTC

I'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE
/me takes a superman pose

iugah4wguirhg. yella fella isn't goin nowhere, so :dump:

14th April 2003 23:18 UTC

The preset needs a lot more perfecting, but this'll do for now.

16th April 2003 04:47 UTC

As I'm sure all of you who intermittently check devart for notes und crap, Spyed has posted a link on your user page to two of his journal entries. Read them both if you haven't already :)

Now then, I'm viewing this tribute as wholly more important as of reading them. If you're planning on doing anything...work your ass off. If you're not planning on doing anything, but you are a devart member/user, do something now, or else I'll shake my finger at you. :igor:

The two things I'd request from EVERYONE is that 1) you start posting comments in their presets for this tribute, and that you post something for a comment on the intro; and 2) you keep your presets DA related.

Now, anyone that's posted anything, please please PLEASE don't get me wrong when I say this. The only really good presets I've seen for the pack that are DA related are Nic01's probe (assuming he gets it fixed, of course), FSK's Squared remix, HF's Dreaming of That Green, and UnConeD's intro (I'd say my Cubism remix as well but nobody's commented on it yet). I have (or at least I think I have) seen all of the presets in this post. That's 4 (or 5) presets total so far. Keep making them! And if you posted and I didn't mention you above...make more! NAYAH BITCH.

16th April 2003 09:01 UTC

And how many does the pack need in your opinion ? 20 ?

16th April 2003 19:34 UTC

as many as possible, but i think at the very most 3 per avser :)

16th April 2003 21:12 UTC

And you`d like only high end presets ?

16th April 2003 22:58 UTC

I believe he'll pick the best of yours if you have more than 3 - Except if the extra presets are just so good and he can't quite leave them out...

17th April 2003 00:34 UTC

I'll do a couple of presets if you want me to but i don't use deviantart that much except for downloading wallpapers and avs packs. A few people said that it should just be people who regularly post comments and release things so i don't think i should get involved.

17th April 2003 07:38 UTC

HF's Dreaming of That Green
????? which preset is this? i have a devart fella dancer, and that is the only devart related preset i have.

TO EVERYONE::: Personally, i don't mind if you remix any of my presets, as long i get some credit in the comment, and that the remixer also get credit (also in the comment).

27th April 2003 12:22 UTC

some broken business

27th April 2003 18:15 UTC

wow, that is a REALLY cool effect. but it's not very dynamic...i know you can do more with this :) also...it seems like your filtering could be a lot faster if you did it with a convolution filter or something...but maybe it's just me.

28th April 2003 07:24 UTC

i had that feel when i uploaded it. i will try to figure how to add more random movements, then upload a new version..

28th April 2003 23:48 UTC

thanks to tonic and skupers for helping me out

29th April 2003 01:04 UTC

Used a Colormap to replace the last part...

29th April 2003 06:24 UTC

it still needs to be more dynamic imho...it just moves in four directions and that's it :/

29th April 2003 10:34 UTC

If it moves in ALL 4 directions, can it be anymore dynamic? :igor:

29th April 2003 13:07 UTC

i'm tired of it. actually i didnt want to submit anything, now thats it.

29th April 2003 20:02 UTC

you're a good avser and you use deviantart. you're submitting something, dammit. :hang: ;)

30th April 2003 07:51 UTC

heh, just finished a pack.. need a rest now. but 'never say never', it's still a long time to go, so i will try to come up with something new (won't update that preset posted above). then again it's diploma time for me in the next months.

2nd May 2003 05:21 UTC

I thought the original colors were... um... icky (don't hurt me! ;) ). Added some color maps for it to rotate through.

P.S. This is the first preset I've modified :D

3rd May 2003 03:49 UTC

Actually, use this one instead... fixed one of the colors that looked too similar to one of the other color maps and added another one...

3rd May 2003 17:08 UTC

who said the colors of the preset have to be like the (very ugly!) colors of devart?? keep your fingers out of it, and if you play around with it, put your name in the comment and the filename (remixed by.. ).

btw: remove the multiplier (in *my* preset) and you got your ugly devart colors. :D

wiser: your version looks like the standard theme of deskmod.

3rd May 2003 20:00 UTC

Yeah... sorry...

4th May 2003 00:55 UTC

14th May 2003 11:35 UTC

heres my first subbmssion

i havnt been a deviant in quite some tme.. i might actually get around to starting a new acount there someday.

i used the deviant colour scheme,

please give feedback before i snd it too atero.

<edit> sorry, forgot to include the bmp.
oh yeah, it uses picture 2, or picture1 if you want ot edit it.

19th May 2003 09:48 UTC

crashed my winamp. reupload with picture.

21st May 2003 07:38 UTC

sorry, i thought i resubmetted it ages ago.. here'y'ar.
it uses picture1 now, and the image is smaller

30th May 2003 11:21 UTC

hm, still crashes for me

31st May 2003 05:56 UTC

Damn, cuz i really liked that preset.

Ill resubmit it when i get home

1st June 2003 07:13 UTC

It works fine here too!

1st June 2003 07:30 UTC

likewise here. siddhartha: thanks for the preset, it's going in the pack.

i'll get a preview pack up soon...we don't have that many presets, so start making them.

now, dammit.

right now i'm working on a kind of 1337 scope and i'll be done soon...

1st June 2003 18:13 UTC

too bad i'm out of ideas right now:(

3rd June 2003 14:55 UTC

atero: feel free to change the colors in that preset before you submitt. As far as i remember, it is all plain devart colour right now.

5th June 2003 13:09 UTC

Here.. mess around with this because i dont have the energy.

its cool and retro like.. but at the same time it is soo dul i couldnt be fucked thinking about it. someone else can have a go.

I named it after one of my sociology textbooks.

7th June 2003 20:11 UTC

a small update on one of my entries, nothing major.

8th June 2003 03:31 UTC

actually, it'd be better to include only that preset from me in the pack, the others ones i sent are kinda crappy, i think...

and don't bitch at me for not using the edit button, cause the other post was made hours ago.

8th June 2003 19:41 UTC

finished another one, this should make up for the other two.

19th June 2003 11:47 UTC

AArrrhhh!
I have done this freakin' 3d da thingy but i have no cool effect for it!
Somone plz take it, add effect and say its a remix or something, i just have enough of this preset!

11th July 2003 18:35 UTC

Happy birthday deviantart births!

11th July 2003 20:15 UTC

:igor: ...?...there are 27 days left until the third birthday of DA...I really really should try to make something for that.

17th July 2003 06:24 UTC

um.... there is barely any time till da's b-day, so who ever is compiling this, make sure you get it done BEFORE the birthday.

17th July 2003 09:41 UTC

Okay, I'm making a deadline - two weeks from now, August 1st. That means GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASSES AND START AVSING. Tomorrow I'll see if I can get some time to go through everything and get a list compiled, along with some requests on optimizations, fixes, addons, etc. (i.e. I still want yathosho to fix his preset to make it more dynamic). EVERYONE NEEDS TO COMMENT ON THEIR PRESETS. IF YOU DO NOT YOUR PRESET WILL NOT BE SUBMITTED.

NOW GET TO WORK :)

20th July 2003 19:04 UTC

Dance Fella Dance preset, now with minor changes and a spiffy comment

1st August 2003 00:31 UTC

1 week til the birthday. It's almost time.

1st August 2003 01:17 UTC

Atero: you still have my latest intro right? the one with the shiny gameshow lights at the beginning and the squares at the top/bottom?

2nd August 2003 23:19 UTC

fuck it
Due to the extreme and unadulterated laziness of you guys, we've got 13 presets (kind of) and something like 2 comments (kind of). I've washed my hands in this project. Someone else can pick it up if they want.

I zipped up all the presets but the file is too big for the forums, so anyone who wants to put this out will have to look for them themselves.

3rd August 2003 01:53 UTC

four pages, and only 13 presets?!?!

how big are all the files together?

6th August 2003 01:48 UTC

Is somebody going to do this, 'cause there's less than two days til their birthday.

10th August 2003 06:59 UTC

wheee. another class AVS collaboration nightmare!
whooopwhoop

(btw can we unsticky this yet)

10th August 2003 13:06 UTC

I say "Yes". Don't need it anymore.

11th August 2003 01:16 UTC

me too. maybe even lock it, i don't see anything useful coming out of it anyway.

12th August 2003 20:04 UTC

Hasn't the date passed now anyway.

Well that was a waste of a sticky for 3 months wasn't it.

You can only have soooo many comps you know.
