My 2nd AVS pack
:winamp: It's a while since I've been on... Now you can see my new noobish  AVSesses. I forgot to put comments in and I'm too lazy to put them in so enjoy!:igor:

9th January 2003 03:06 UTC

MinuS_PeDaL, these are definitely noobish. I would recommend taking apart some other people's presets (The SSCs and DMs mainly) and figuring out how they make them work. Start with easier ones and work up to the more difficult ones. Also, take a look at Atero's AVS Primer. It helped me out a lot and it should be useful.

9th January 2003 03:11 UTC

Is down all bad? But thanks for the tip

9th January 2003 05:24 UTC

Kind of reminds me of the newpicks (default WA2 presets). They're pretty basic, which isn't to say not good, but seen before.

9th January 2003 22:33 UTC

YAY MINUS SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!!!!!!
$$$$$ L8es $$$$$

10th January 2003 00:18 UTC

no, it's because they're not very original presets (i.e. they've been done a thousand times before)

10th January 2003 00:41 UTC

Atero, why must you find something wrong with every freakin' preset that you see. Do you ever say something good about anything. I've looked around and all I see you whining about everything. Is their something wrong with your mind or something. Go to hell you nerd.

:\

10th January 2003 01:12 UTC

I don't get it

10th January 2003 01:42 UTC

it's a face you ass.....lol
go on MSN

10th January 2003 02:08 UTC

I see. MSN is being a prick

10th January 2003 02:08 UTC

Know what? Fuck you. You wanted feedback, that's what I gave you, whether you like it or not. I've said this before, but I'll say it again: Don't like the criticism you're getting? Get over it, or get better at what you're doing, and people will give you better reviews.
The two of you can go fuck yourselves. Grow up and take a damn typing class

<edit> I apologize - I meant English, not typing. </edit>
If you don't speak fluent English, I apologize, it's just that no one but an American uses the term "freakin'"

10th January 2003 02:48 UTC

What's wrong with using the word freakin'?

10th January 2003 04:00 UTC

Nothing, It's just a colloquialism that might identify where you're from. I tend to say "frikking" and "eh" and "meh" alot. Americans tend to say "huh".

Nothing wrong with it, just different ways of speaking.

10th January 2003 14:07 UTC

ramanujan would say: the lameness of those who use the words "freakin" and "frikkin" varies directly with the frequency of the use of those words

10th January 2003 18:04 UTC

what does all this have to do with anything? Ive been fucking about on these forums for a few weeks and all i see is shite typing and childish bickering, this is an avs forum, not a debate on who dosent like who. Were here to help each other, not kill each other.

Minus and Kid, these forums arent an instant messenger, get one and use it.Im not even going to complain about Atero, its not even his fault this time.

How about we discuss some avs on here for a change instead of bitching about how you hate each other???

10th January 2003 19:23 UTC

i hate you, raz

10th January 2003 19:24 UTC

does my text look at all bothered, im here to learn about avs not to make friends with you.

10th January 2003 21:15 UTC

Minus, the only way to get better is to find out what you are doing wrong and improve on it. Atero is telling you that what you have done has been done by many other people already. By only using the default features in AVS there are not many possibilities, which are really dull after seeing them 100 times before. What you need to do is try to change as much as you can and the best way to do this is to learn how to code DMs and SSCs. There are many posts in the forums that will help you with this and even Atero has a very helpful AVS primer (see his signature). I hope this helps. And don't let Atero piss you off too much. He can be very helpful when you don't retaliate to his criticism.

10th January 2003 21:29 UTC

ummm..
Atero when you say fuck you both ie.me?
i dont understand i take your critsisum..
and MinuS and i both have MSN i just told him to come over cause it was being screwy
that's all i have to say

Too many god damn critics!!

10th January 2003 21:58 UTC

the 11th is opposite day 2 day

hate=love
bad=good

10th January 2003 22:22 UTC

Kid: Atero (and the rest of us, I'm sure) got pissed off at you and Minus because you're using this board like it's a messaging program. It's not. You two obviously live near each other, so if you want to talk, try the phone. And get used to critics, they're everywhere.

Raz: As far as I can tell, Atero is just an ass sometimes (no offense :p ). I suggest you learn to tolerate it, for two reasons: 1)the world is full of asses, it's best you learn to take what they say with a grain of salt 2)Atero has some damn good advice sometimes, ya know... he DOES know his way around AVS.

Minus: Your presets are not bad, but they all rely on pre-made stuff too much. Throw some original code in there. It's not as hard as it looks, really. I mean, sure, if you want to do it right, it takes some time, but just messing around works, and it's fun too. :) Just keep plugging away. Taking apart other people's presets and changing the code is an excellent way to figure out what everything does. Try it! As for Atero's whining, it's called "being a sarcastic, cynical 14-year old". There's nothing wrong with his mind, and I'm sure it knows math better than yours does.

Jaheckelsafar: Incidentally, where ARE you from? I also tend to say "eh" and "meh" a lot... @_@

10th January 2003 23:16 UTC

I know atero's very helpful and a smart guy, i wasnt even critisising him i was saying he was right, i tend to screw things up somewhere between getting thoughts and putting them into words.

Atero can be annoying sometimes, ive even said on a recent thread to people to put up with him or leave and hes a helpful guy a lot of the time, something like that

Im finished telling people to stop arguing on here now, had a bad couple of weeks and was just wondering as to the point on arguing on this and got a bit pissed off about a lot of things then typed a load of crap to things...

Anyway thats the last im saying on the subject of how annoying Atero is and people arguing over the internet because its pointless, argue all you want, have fun irritating people far far away.

As for the presets that the thread is supposed to be about lol, looks like my presets about a month ago, not bad. A little too unoriginal, take the advice and take apart other peoples presets and look up Atero's primer, its really good ive used it and it helped me a lot. Keep trying and take note of constructive critisism, if its just "there crap" ignore it but if it actually specifies something wrong with it then take note of it and if you agree, then improve them, you cant just expect everyone to love your presets and not say any bad things about them.

Anyway ive gone on long enough...

11th January 2003 01:03 UTC

Clinical: I don't have a phone to phone KiD with. :P

11th January 2003 01:20 UTC

then use the PM system that comes with the forum. is that REALLY so hard???

btw, that "i hate you, raz" comment was a JOKE...as in, a response to him bitching about us bitching at each other.

11th January 2003 01:28 UTC

lol, good point

11th January 2003 01:29 UTC

Atero, it can be really hard to tell when you're joking. Saying "i hate you" isn't normally interpreted as a joke. At least say "I hate you:) . But you definitely do give some good advice sometimes and you normally give constructive criticism.

We need to keep a count of how many threads tell noobs how to deal with Atero.

11th January 2003 01:49 UTC

Maybe we should put a little notice in the FAQ warning about Atero to noobs :)

And a big notice somewhere obvious telling them to search for their question before they come on and crowd the forum with questions answered countless times and right there in the FAQ staring them smack in the face obvious. That would reduce the Atero related 7 page bitching threads lol :)

11th January 2003 01:51 UTC

oh yeah just noticed what i said before, i was in a mood and it looked like it was a serious "i hate you" thing so i felt like having a minor rant. im ok with whoevers ok with me.

11th January 2003 02:53 UTC

Atero: There's a PM system on Winamp?! I'm mega noob! :)

11th January 2003 03:01 UTC

Minus, in the forums you can click on their name and in the box that opens up click "send a private message to <name>".

11th January 2003 03:03 UTC

HAHAHA Thanks eh

11th January 2003 03:31 UTC

Minus you sent me a PM about a week ago, didnt you realise what you were doing?

11th January 2003 03:42 UTC

I sent you a PM? I was just screwing around and still don't know what I'm doing. Neat stuff there.

11th January 2003 09:21 UTC

Holy crap! this is the most active thread I've seen here.

Ottawa, Canada. That's where I hail from. The land of igloos and parkas.

Anyway, what else you got Minus? Any tries at coding?

Thought I'd include a preset made of builtins too.

11th January 2003 15:09 UTC

Jaheckelsafar, that is the best preset I've seen in a while that uses only built-ins (except for the movement).

11th January 2003 18:23 UTC

I'm working on a superscope right now. It not all good now but i'm getting better:up: I post when I'm done:igor:

11th January 2003 19:08 UTC

Hint for people who are still using people's profile page to send PM's:

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ê

11th January 2003 19:59 UTC

Hey,

i am learning coding now
it's a simple AVS but soon with the help of atero's AVS primer i will know more.

Check it out :D

Haha, way to make me feel like an idiot UnConed.

11th January 2003 23:49 UTC

Thanks for pointing that out unconed, I knew I had seen that before but I couldn't remember where it was.
Kid, here's some tips about your SSC.
- n doesn't need to be 700.
- Because i is always positive, abs(i) is a complete waste.
- v*1 is also pointless.
- Because v is so erratic, tan(v) and v are just about the same.
- i*.8 yields near the same results as i*sin(i)

11th January 2003 23:52 UTC

Thank you.!
:D
