Question
How do I make a Screenshot of an avs preset so I can make it into a collage and put a title on it? I need to add a picture to publish my pack.

Use a screen captue. It's ALT-PrintScreen if I remeber correctly. Just have the AVS window as the active one or you'll get a shot of whichever one is active.

I don't get it.....
(I'll try to make this as specific as possible.)
I minimized the internet screen, so now only my desktop showed on the screen. I brought up winamp, so now I have winamp on my desktop and nothing else. I held down alt and pressed print screen (you have to hold down shift when you press print screen, right?)
And nothing happened. I know I'm missing something, what is it?

It's either alt+printscreen, shift+printscreen, or ctrl+printscreen. I just do all three at the right time, since I can't remember which it is.
When AVS is windowed, if you take a screenshot (when the AVS window is selected) you only get the AVS window and whatever's in it. If AVS isn't selected, you get the entire screen (or what the other program that's selected does). When AVS is in fullscreen you get the screenshot, but no window.

What exactly is supposed to happen when you do that? Because nothing happens when I do that.

It is copied to your (graphic) clipboard. Go into whatever graphic program you use, right-click the editor window and click "Paste" - or go up into the Edit menu and select "Paste" from there.
