Responsiveness of AVS with Music from Linein
I am using winamp3 for its visuals. The music is actually played by another software. To get the visuals respond to the music, I selected playing from location linein:// and hit play. From what the spectrum analyser on winamp3, I can see that the volume of the music is very low (in fact, it has no relation to the actual volume) even though I turn the volume and enabled gain in the eq window all the way up.

Is there a way of increasing or decreasing the volume of the music that goes through avs, but not the actual soundcard? If it is possible, it means I can control the responsiveness of avs.

Open up the volume settings for your soundcard and switch to the recording settings instead of playback settings (options -> properties). Adjust the line-in volume.
