can avs work with other source than winamp
i'm a dj, and besides of winamp i work with my mixer and turntables. I' want to have the visualizations runing with my live mixes. If anybody can help or guide me to the right software i'll really appreciate that.
Thanks.

You could use linin for winamp, but I think a few people have gotten it to work with a few other sources.

You need an input plugin that feeds the data to avs (i think the normal line-in plugin does this anyway), I'm not sure where you could find one though. You could use a splitter to feed the input to your computer (which winamp will then output to avs) and to what ever speakers you ar using (if you aren't using your pc speakers).

easy
I use this system at parties:
connect your mixtable to your line in on your sound card
open sound properties and choose line-in as record source
in winamp playlist ---> add ---> url ---> linein://
click play
launch avs
et voila! :)

the first step is acomplished (AVS working with line in) so thank you all!
I'll try the second step that is to have fullscreen on one monitor and the configuration panel on other. I won't bother you till then ;)

Good luck, I haven't been able to make that one work at all.

By the way, turn off AVS' advanced beat detection if you're using line-in. Otherwise AVS will think it's just one huge song and won't ever redetect the beat when a different song starts.

I also managed to connect my mixer to winamp3/AVS but I still have a few problems:
I use a WA2 linein-plugin and a WA2-WA3 plugin-manager.
AVS reacts on the line in but there is no sound on my speakers?
(I checked the volumesettings, they seem to be ok)
Is it possible to start WA with linein:// as standard and a full screen AVS? (i see i'm not the only one with that question)
