I'm sure this has been stated somewhere but ive been looking for hours and havent came up with where APE's need to be placed.

Ok, Im half stupid.
What is an APE? Is that a Pre Set?
Im lost on this.
When i go to preset its loading visulations (allowing me to pick them) . I thought that those were different that an APE. I thought that was a (sprial) .

apes are additional premade effects for your avs presets
to use them: doubleclick on the avs window > click on the '+' > Render APE > there you are
if you don't know how to create/modify a preset read the avs faq and nsdn

Well most APEs don't place themselves in a separate APE section, so forget about the "Render APE" section.
The FAQ (link in previous post) answers all your questions (what is a preset, what is an APE).
