render avi stability
I'm using the render avi, and I'm finding that it only works with small low-res avis... I know avs is not intended for video playback but I'm not concerned about fast performance as I'm using avsgrabber. Is there a way to get it to play bigger, more demanding avi files without crashing winamp? The best I've been able to achieve is 320x240 DivX and low bitrate but I'd really like to be able to player higher resolution files in order to make use of the cool effects....... would more memory help? I've tried pixelplayer but that seems extremely unstable

I'm using avs 2.8 btw

i guess it's a codec question, compressed video will run a LOT slower than raw video, since avs already consumes enough cpu. using mpeg4 related codecs is like the worst idea.

thanks, I hadn't considered that. It seems to perform much better with uncompressed video, just a shame about the filesize.....

maybe the people at vj forums know a better solution. from what i read there, many use mpeg2 or cinepak (depending on the source).
